I knew this would be posted immediately on DVD Talk.

I remember those Oscar specials where she interviewed a lot of celebrities before or after the Oscars depending on where you live.

Back when I was young my parents would watch 20/20 and sometimes I would watch it but more happy they were staying past 10pm so I did not have to go to bed early.

93 years is a good run.

I lost a lot of respect for her in her last few working years. The View is beneath her and she fell into being just another gossiping hen. It’s too bad that that’s what I’ll remember her for considering her legendary career prior to that.

Part of the reason why I chose to study Broadcast Journalism in college and eventually go to TV, but working in sports news was icons like Walters, Walter Cronkite, Mike Wallace, Tom Brokaw etc.

I mean no matter how you feel about mainstream media. I know there are many who don't like CBS, ABC, NBC and CNN for news, you can't deny she's a legend. She's done more, interviewed more notable people in her lifetime than the vast majority of us. And she was also a trail blazer for women in TV news.

Well, to be fair, I think those nightly news personalities and that news were very different as they mostly predated cable news and what is has become today.

20/20 and Dateline use to be good shows that had different stories and interviews and quality anchors like Walters and Jane Pauley and then somewhere along the line they became these lame true crime story shows.

20/20 was entertaining in the '80s and '90s. A well-made show with useful news about a variety of things.

Watched 'The View' today just because I knew it would be a tribute show.

Overall it was a nice package giving some insight on who she was off camera from the people who worked with her and knew her best. One notable exception, they brought back everyone who had ever hosted the view even by zoom or conf call if they had to...all that is, except for Rosie O Donnell.

Wonder what the story was there....

Walters was a genuinely terrible human being. Not shocked O’Donnell wasn’t quick to pay phony tribute to her.

Look up her shaming Cory Feldman for saying he was molested as a kid.

I knew Rosie got into it with people on the View, but not enough to not even appear via phone for this, she really must not have liked Barbara at all.

The Cory Feldman interview was definitely a low point in Walters’ career. An absolute embarrassment considering everything we’ve learned from the #metoo movement just a few years later.

Likely the rise of 24-hour cable news killed any profits 20/20 was generating.
