Wife and I watched the first two and they’re pretty okay.

Everything looks great and the actors seem to care about their roles. The Harfoots are a little odd but it seems their role is limited to dealing with The Stranger, who is gotta be
Spoiler:
Sauron. Come on, killing fireflies to make a Star map? That’s a total “kick the puppy” moment.

After PJ’s lily white cast, seeing actors of color is a little different but in the grand scheme of things nothing to get upset about.

So far I am liking this way more than the GoT spinoff. The acting is overall decent, I read a bunch of Tolkien but not enough to know details of what has been changed/omitted etc. so I am free to enjoy the ride so to speak. It's a shame the online trolls are coming for this as it seems very well done. Just finished ep 2 last night and plan to get to the other ones this week.
