I hate that they continue to try and out-gross previous seasons. It's like the writers are thinking "Last season we exploded a guy by putting a miniature guy inside his ass and then made him normal size - how can we outdo that this season?"

The writers have also gotten extremely lazy. They're just taking every real life far-right talking point and conspiracy theory and plopping it in the show without changing much at all (ie. pizza-gate, Christmas, trans stuff, MAGA, etc.).

Man, episode 2 and 3 just flat out sucked. Everything but Homelander just drains the life out of the show. Firecracker and that on-ice thing was fucking embarrassing. Anyone think that's provocative, clever or good satire?

Episode 4 has a great rating on IMDb so that's the last chance I'm giving it because of Homelander...

I've liked the season thus far. not loved like past seasons, but still I enjoy the gore and Homelander's psychotic episodes. lasering that guy's dick off sealed it for me that Anthony Starr portrays Homelander as a mentally unstable super being that has no idea what right and wrong is anymore. it exudes psychosis and I think deserves accolades for his portrayal because it is so good how many emotions he can go through in any scene he is in.

Pet peeve of mine : Brain death = dead. That's not comatose or in a persistent vegetative state. No need for power of attorney to make any treatment decision at that stage besides organ harvesting. That is a dead body at that point.

Halfway through episode 3 right now. I don't hate this season, but it's starting to feel like background noise. And I can't stand Frenchie's story this season. It feels way too contrived, even for this show. I see it seems episode 4 is supposed to be really good, so I hope the show ramps up from there.

Well, time to brave episode 4. I hope it's good because, although there are some interesting things sprinkled throughout the first three episodes, so far they feel disjointed, as if they started filming before having a clear vision for the season.

Yeah, the on-ice sequence was retarded. And I don't mean the "timely" war on Christmas part. I mean the carnage that briefly ensued afterwards. That was way too cartoony in execution.

Enjoying this season as much as any other really. I think knowing it’s ending after one more has helped give things some importance.

Really like Sister Sage and hope she’s in it through the end of the show. No idea what her end game will be but i’m sure rewatching her storyline will play differently once all the cards are on the table. Wonder if she’s going to lobotomize herself before she ends up being needed for something important at some point.

Don’t mind the Frenchie story but also don’t know what it’s in service of and if it’s nothing then there’s other places (with Frenchie and without) I’d rather spend my time.

I'm guessing that plot line will pick back up at some inconvenient time. Like having Colin confront Frenchie in the middle of an op requiring stealth. I just don't like the huge coincidence of Frenchie


They may as well have Frenchie say "of all the rehab meetings in all the towns in all the world, he walks into mine”.

I agree that all the stupid side plots are not interesting and are a joke,

• Frenchie being attracted to men out of no where (completely dropping romantic / friendship trust that he has worked to establish with the other girl over 3 seasons),
• over the top conservative bashing,
• gross out human centipede (why??),
• CEO girl Ashley went from being competent and in-control to morphing into Otis dropping stuff and stumbling out of rooms when Lex Luthor yells at him.
• The smartest person in the world comes up with a stupid 'frame someone for murder' idea.
• The Christmas show on ice was absolutely terrible ( Homelander can't find a guy in a vent with his super hearing, gets blinded by bright light and just laserbeams randomly as he turns away - then everyone is getting cut and killed by ice skates as they jump over each other to escape This is stupid shit ).

I will give episode 4 a shot - hopefully they find their footing soon and get to the main story.

Yeah, I'm loving this season just as much as any of the others. Episode 4 was SO good! Homelander welded the door shut at the end, right? All of those basement scenes were so chilling!
