Super-sized episode tonight, apparently

I have a feeling that this might be the last episode set before the Breaking Bad timeline. That might explain the expanded length.

That was a weird transition.

How far ahead was that jump?

I figure that had to be a time jump of 6 months at the very least... but probably more like a year or so.

Have we seen the last of Kim Wexler? It's hard to believe that's the case, but she seems unnecessary at this point.

So is next week still set before the events of Breaking Bad?
I was not bowled over by this episode. The extra length made it drag. I really didn't need the never ending Gus flirts at the bar scene or more Hector and his bell or Kim serving up another lie. Ready to move on. With all the speculation about Kim it just ends with her quitting law and leaving. Hopefully we get something more interesting in the Gene time frame whenever they decide to get to it.

IMDB's episode guide for the rest of this season gives us an indication of where the show's going.

I thought it was great. A nice final farewell to many characters at the funeral. And I’m fine with drawn out scenes with Fring and Hector - that’s likely the last time we ever see those characters on TV.
I think it’s fairly obvious that most if not all of the final 4 will be in the Gene-iverse, and I’m now sure we haven’t seen the last of Kim.

That was really dull. It was just so paint by the numbers which is just not BCS/BB. And it seemed like 40 mins of the 80 was endless commercials. Does seem like most of the rest will be Gene.

That was a very strange time jump. Kim breaking up with Jimmy didn’t really have a big emotional punch IMO.
Saul’s license plate said it expired November 2005. Not sure if he didn’t renew. But what exactly is the time frame of this show? I know the first season of Breaking Bad came out in 2007, but did it necessarily take place that year?

When I heard a guy coughing in the waiting room, I was sure Walter was gonna walk through the door.

I thought this episode was alittle dull by BCS standards

I am surprised so many are down on it. Of course I liked the last one more, but I thought this was a really good episode. It's the episode Saul becomes Saul for good, which is what the show has been building towards for six seasons. And while I expected Kim to leave this episode, her quitting the law like that, and her casual, detailed lie to Howard's wife both had me gasping. And I was glad to have that one final scene with the Salamanca family, one final humiliation of Hector.

BTW, I guess the show runners left Easter Eggs, hinted at character exits, showing one of Nacho's girlfriends with a 6:3 Domino on her foot (he dies in S6E3) , showing Lalo next to a clock that displays 6:08 (he died in S6E8) , and last year having Kim walk of of Jimmy's hotel room, which is Room number 609. Cool stuff.

It wasn't obviously as engaging or tense as last week. But what I loved about it is that for all the speculation and theorizing around the Kim character, it was a pretty simple conclusion, though extremely layered from a character standpoint. It's like the ending of Breaking Bad. It all was pretty obvious how it was going to end... there weren't really any surprises, but the execution nails it.

I was expecting Walter and Jesse to walk into his office in the final seconds of the episode.
Wonder if the next three episodes will show Saul's perspective of selected Breaking Bad events, then the final episode will be all Gene.
I'm also expecting Gene to bump into Kim at some point. Could be anything from them actually reconnecting in their new lives, or Gene catches a glimpse of her in a crowd scene.
