That was a trip. Shades of Mr. Robot with the revelation. Really heart breaking. I was a little impatient with the first 10 minutes but it really picked up steam as it went along and I got more and more invested with what was going to happen. I wish we didn't have to wait another week. Holy cow is Oscar Isaac an awesome actor. Such a tour de force performance.

So I was watching episode 5 and I think I fell asleep after 10 minutes and dreamed I was watching Ordinary People instead.

I was glad they finally brought Bushman (not to be confused with Bushmaster) into the MCU, but would have been nice to actually see him and his confrontation with Marc. A Bushman/Harrow team-up against Moon Knight would be interesting.

Speaking of Moon Knight, I think he's had about 5 seconds of screen time total in the last 2 episodes.

This episode also gave me (see Spoiler) vibes.

Man, Star Wars just utterly wasted the talent that is Oscar Isaac, didn't they?

If only Sony could harness that into Spider-Man 2099 instead of El Muerto... :sigh:

I must be stupid. What was "the revelation"?

Clunky ass episode. Cameo by Moon Knight. :sarcasm:

Wasn't that obvious from episode 1?

Evidently not. Now they had to hammer it home for those in the back.

I think it was the fact that Steven isn’t the OG personality is what caught folks off guard. Most thought Mark was the fragment/split.

Good episode.

I have no idea how they’ll wrap it up next week.

I think I knew that already but I probably heard some online discussion about the character from the comic book before the show started.

From the 90s run I read, I knew MK as Mark Spectre, but with this new incarnation I thought they would make Mark the split. I was wrong.

The most interesting thing I got from this episode is Mark is Jewish. The way they’ve been playing the series so far it seemed as if he was Muslim (or at least Egyptian) at least Steven was- he spoke fluent Arabic (which doesn’t necessarily mean anything) and was even commented on by that Egyptian cab driver after he switched personalities- asking Steven why he was acting like a “foreigner” before.

This does seem to continue the trend of the Marvel shows dealing with loss, grief and/or trauma in the fallout of The Snap

What did his mother do exactly? Beat him?

yes and blamed Marc for the death of his brother, her son, by taking him into the rising water cave.

The beatings were the least of it. His mother blamed him for his little brother's death and made every day until he left home a living hell of physical and emotional abuse while his father did nothing to stop it.

My takeaway from the episode is that a sandship piloted by a hippo is one bitchin' ride.

How does any of this episode have to do with “The Snap”?

Thanks for filling me in, guys. I usually try pay closer attention to a show like this, but I was still dealing with work issues while I was watching this episode. I should probably go back and watch it again.

Good episode  This show is SO much better without the annoying-as-fuck wife and Ethan Hawke (as the antagonist) appearing.

Ethan Hawke had the second-most lines of the episode.
