Outer Range (Amazon) -- S: Josh Brolin, Imogen Poots -- Premieres 4/15/22
About Outer Range:
Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming's wilderness. A thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery, Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown. At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed.
8 episode season. It's a Western Thriller from a new creator and showrunner named Brian Watkins.
Once upon a time, there was nothing to watch on TV. Now look at how much stuff keeps coming out.

Well, that’s one way to say Grace.
I’d watch Josh Brolin in pretty much anything so I’m definitely there. The trailer wasn’t terribly exciting but I’m down for a supernatural modern western.

Enjoyed the first two episodes, though it seems like a tough concept to extend very far. Brolin is terrific.

I watched these first two episodes today. I liked it, but have no clue what is really going on. Hopefully some of the mystery will start to be explained now.

I'm enjoying this. I didn't realize it was coming out gradually. Too bad, as I could definitely see us burning through it.

I watched the first 4 episodes. Slow burn but I like it a lot. Small gripe, I coudn't see shit in the first two episodes so I finally said screw "calibrated dark" and put the picture mode on "standard".

Watched eps 3 and 4 yesterday. Still liking this in all its weirdness. Like the rival rancher's son that belts out 80s songs. It's been a while since I've heard "Don't Give Up," that made for an awkward moment at the funeral.

Then you'll never run into these issues. Unless of course your viewing room is bathed in sunlight

I watched the first episode and part of the second. I thought Ep1 moved too slowly until the last 15 minutes, but even partly into Ep2 I'm really into this show. Brolin is great.

So was 5...this show is not what I expected. 3 left I will finish but if anyone know if it ends on a cliff-hanger and can spare me I would appreciate it.

I'm up to date, and it's ok. Nothing special, but fin for what it is. I'm enjoying the performances.

It's not quite the series I hoped it would be, -somewhat off-putting with a bagful of glum, unpleasant characters and lacking a certain sense of fun. It really doesn't seem to have a lot of creative, cohesive ideas. We have that big set-piece at the end of the second episode with Brolin at the site in the future and then they barely address it. That being said, I'll at least watch this season just to see where they're going. Maybe they'll pull it off.

I'm fully expecting a cliffhanger ending and no big questions answered. But at least we're likely to get Billy belting out some more sweet tunes.

I'm really enjoying this slow burn supernatural tinted show. It's different than anything else seen in recent years and performances are stellar from the whole cast.

Hmm...not sure of where this wound up. I had figured the twist but what they did with it was sort of bizarre. I REALLY dig the general concept but not sure it was explored in the best way even though the performances and much of it was quite excellent.
