The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21

Premieres in 2 weeks. 5 episode crossover event.

Brandon Routh, Chyler Leigh, Cress Williams, Javicia Leslie and Katherine McNamara will guest star. I'm going to continue to watch the show until the very end.

Cue the "I'm done with the Arrowverse, I'm not going to watch it folks" :D

Isn't Armageddon just the name of the 5 episode crossover arc? Not the whole season?

You know what you’re right. I looked at Futon Critic and the premiere is called Armageddon part 1. You can lose it from the title.

I assume this will loosely follow the DC story arc of the same name?

Oh noes, Iris is going to die (again!) if Teh Flashes can't run fast enough!

They've never faced a threat like this before!

That’s ok, he can always go back in time and fix it, but then he’ll break the time stream and have to go back in time and fix that…

Good to see that Iris will have a big role.

Apparently they wanted Tyler Hoechlin (Superman) to be part of this crossover, but due to scheduling conflicts and COVID restrictions, it was scrapped.

They're getting Iris to fill-in on the stuff Superman would've done.

I enjoyed part 1. It was good to see Ray again and all his goofiness. This storyline did feel very comic-book like.

I am curious about what supposedly transpires in 2031 that turns Flash into something evil.

The only issue I had was the way Despero's alter ego looked. It looked more like a video game avatar than an actual being. Unless it was supposed to be that way.

According to the storyline for episode 2, it looks like the special guest star will be:

Spoiler:

Cress Williams (Black Lightning)

The writers didn't forget that he is faster than normal speed humans! When he started to fight the Royal Flush gang I was thinking, please don't get hit by regular speed people again. Then again, that's always the case.

Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21

 I laughed at how he took care of business and easily took out the Royal flush gang. I was like finally, an easy villain for a change.

Did the costume designer know what a royal flush is? They put different suits on each of the Royal Flush Gang members.

Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21

Reading someones mind, thoughts is hardly going to help in a fight as people don't actively think of every move they are going to do. Even if one could there is no way they could react in time. Reading body language makes more sense than that. Not that it matter if fighting someone much faster.

That was messing me up. I was thinking is this SUPPOSED to be the Royal Flush gang? Plus Ace was missing.

Unlike his recent LEGENDS appearance it was cool seeing Ray Palmer back doing Atom things. Like shrinking Flash and himself to avoid the taxi.
Here is an interview with Brandon Routh.

Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21

One of the more enjoyable Flash episodes in a long time. I was pretty happy with the CGI for Despero and liked the running storyline for Ray.

This episode is what I've wanted from the Flash for years. Shows off Flash's incredible speed saving people while he makes a mockery of most low-level villains. Looks like they've added a little padding to Grant's suit. He's added some muscle but not that much...

Did they kill off Joe between seasons?

I don’t know if you’re serious, but no. His name was in the credits. He just wasn’t in the episode.

I actually have the same thought. Cecil had an emotional reaction when Chester brought up being dead to Ray. I don’t remember anything from last season that would be connected so whatever that is it’s new. It was weird that Barry or Caitlin had no reaction though.

I thought the same.

Maybe the baby?

That was my second thought but that's dark especially for this show.

They've kind of ignored that baby for a while, though. I could see them wanting to clean house. And a six month time jump would let them skip most of the initial grieving.
