Quick question : Were all the people in that house besides Johnny (who had an open window) murdered or just knocked out? Were we supposed to know either way?

My impression is that they were murdered. I don't think she would have worried about taking the girl out of the house if the people in the house were just going to be knocked out.

Even if Farrell doesn’t continue in the role, while it would be a shame, they could conceivably get any actor to transform into The Penguin costume. I mean Farrell is unrecognizable and another actor won’t play nearly as good as he. It could still conceivably work for future, possible, seasons.

Miloti sure is hypnotic when on screen. I don’t see anything but her. Amazing acting performance.

Milioti is the best part of this series. Last night’s episode…

I was a few weeks behind and it was awesome to get in a 3 episode binge! Other than the Sofia centered episode, Penguin is still by far the driving force of this show - I'm actually amazed at just how many scenes he's in. The only thing I'm not really feeling is the Julian character, I'm assuming she'll keep him around and use him for something - he'll either become more important or just die once he's outlived his usefulness.(like most characters so far!)
This is the best and most fleshed out Gotham we've had right? I love seeing all of the different aspects of it, suburbs, international district, etc.
If James Gunn axes this Batman universe it would be unforgiveable. They have to give it at least three movies and 3-4 series like this.

Hands down one of the best shows HBO has ever had.
Not one character goes to waste and everyone one of them is developed nicely.
What a contrast to how the Penguin is in the movie. He feels more of, well, the Penguin in this and I love how he truly is just a straight up villain.

Yeah, this is a great show. I like how they introduced his lair in the latest episode. This is one of those shows where you find yourself rooting for the guy, but then every so often you're reminded that he's a monster.

Yeah so so good. I'm guessing we won't get a resolution between Oz and Sofia as both are supposed to play a part in The Batman II.

Gunn, DC and WB need to stop bullshitting and make this and The Batman part of their new continuity.

Isn’t it Matt Reeves who’s the one who’s holding back from that happening? He doesn’t want any fantastical elements so that limits things both in terms of villains this Batman can encounter as well as allies he can work with.
I like The Batman but it’s more of a standalone piece of the DC Universe. Haven’t watched The Penguin yet but need to.

Love the underground lair and how Oz is dressing more like the classic Penguin-style. So much sympathy for Oz because of his mother, but he's still a gangster. Also, not sure where it's going with Vic.
There's a weird parallel between this and Tulsa King, where this show is more heavy and serious.

Great scene between Sofia and Eve in this week's episode. The performance of both actresses was amazing, with each giving subtle indications of mental and emotional processing underneath the palpable tension. It played completely against the misogynist stereotype of women being catty, irrational or overly emotional. Both of them were calm and calculating, but their calculations were underpinned by controlled emotion as they both came to hard-hitting realizations (Eve realizing Oz lied to her about who killed her girls and Sofia realizing she doesn't have the kind of genuine family that Eve and her girls share). Just really good stuff.

It is stupid how good Colin Farrell is in this. If he doesn't win an Emmy for this performance, just get rid of the award.

Yep... and so is Cristin Milioti. Give them the respective awards now and be done with it.

This is a genre show. How many genre shows win major acting Emmys? Gillian Anderson - X-Files, Lee Jung-jae - Squid Games, Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black. It happens, but not too often. Also I think Colin Ferrell is giving kind of an exaggerated over-the-top performance. I'm enjoying him, but it's not a Best Actor in a Drama sort of role. Cristin Milioti is the one who might win some awards, especially if she's in the Supporting Actress category.

The Penguin was the No. 1 show last week according to Samba TV's stats
One other YouTube outlet, claimed it was a viewership bomb, and there was no one watching or talking about it. You can probably guess who it is.
