Looking at the category and competition, I think he has a pretty good chance of winning his only Emmy in two weeks.

I believe he admitted in interviews that he used to have a drug problem. Those rarely go away forever. Sure, people get clean for a while, but it usually comes back.

Such a bummer. I never watched The Wire, but loved him in Boardwalk Empire and Hap and Leonard

Sad news. He was a great actor who had several great roles over the years. RIP

Yeah, I was just reading a "where are they now" thing on The Wire cast last week and it said he had a drug problem prior in his life.

I also believe he had admitted to using drugs while filming certain projects. It sounded like he either used them to fill in the intensity of the role or he just struggled with them while working on projects. I also got the sense that he knew full well that it could end him but accepted it as a consequence of playing these types of roles.

I get a strong Heath Ledger/Philip Seymour Hoffman vibe here.

Sucks all 3 of those guys were great and as movie and TV fans we were robbed of the possible great work for the years to come.

Why can't this happen to somebody like Logan Paul and not the talented gifted artists and actors.

Maybe the pandemic brought back all of the old problems and bad habits when you had to isolate and quarantine

It's crazy to see several people in this thread wishing that another person had died instead of this person. You guys realize that that's not how death works, right? Also, it's in very poor taste to wish anyone dead.

Yeah save that for the Politics threads... but Rip. I really loved him in Hap and Leonard. First time I really took notice of him.
