About the Show
An epic adventure begins when a massive sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings into its depths. Those who fell in find themselves in a mysterious and dangerous primeval land, where they have no choice but to band together to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world desperately seeks to understand what happened. In the search for answers, one family torn apart by this disaster will have to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event to find a way back to each other.Yeah Yeah I know, it's another high concept sci-fi series on network TV. So if you're not interested because you feel you'll get burned watching this without a "complete story" because you don't trust Nielsen viewers, that's totally fine.

Agreed. I’m somewhat interested in this and I like Natalie Zea so I might give it a try but the fact that it’s on Network TV makes me think we’ll get a pretty cool pilot episode and then the show will quickly devolve into typical boring drama filled with cookie cutter characters.

Agreed. I’m somewhat interested in this and I like Natalie Zea so I might give it a try but the fact that it’s on Network TV makes me think we’ll get a pretty cool pilot episode and then the show will quickly devolve into typical boring drama filled with cookie cutter characters.
This . It sounds promising, and I have no problem looking at Natalie Zea for a bit, but I too doubt this will be any count past the first episode. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if after the pilot we see very little of Zea seeing as how the teaser shows her going into the primeval world, and sequences in that area undoubtedly cost more money than others.

I basically don’t watch any network TV anymore, but I will at least watch the pilot.

Although NBC has only released a teaser trailer so far, the premiere of "La Brea" is just around the corner. Joining the channel's fall line-up, the new series will premiere on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 9 PM ET, and the first season will have 10 episodes total. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the series films in Australia and is one of the most expensive productions shot in Victoria, Australia since "The Pacific" in 2009. NBC "will spend around $71 million in Australia, more than $60 million of it in Victoria," on the new show. Clearly, the network has a lot of faith in the upcoming series. "La Brea" will join NBC's other new show "Ordinary Joe," a drama that follows James Wolk as the title character as he lives out three parallel timelines of his life, airing this fall, along with long-running favorites like "The Blacklist" and the "Chicago P.D." franchise.

Seems like a lot of money to put into a show that barring a miracle will almost definitely flop, but I guess we'll see.

Who knows, this could be the next Revolution.
Probably last 1 season but I will watch as well. Anything with dinosaurs is a must watch for me.

I probably won't watch, but I am curious how they survive the fall. Do they hit a big trampoline of tar? Maybe some inverse gravity thing. You can't star in a show if you die in the first 5 minutes.

I plan to watch but I definitely thought to myself, how do they survive the fall? Maybe as some folks are falling they end up falling onto the back of the a flying dinosaur, or something equally unrealistic and just as silly. No matter how long or how short this ends up being on air, I suspect if will be a guilty pleasure. I still miss Terra Nova, which hinted at some interesting things to come in the final episode that aired if the show had not been cancelled.

I plan to watch but I definitely thought to myself, how do they survive the fall? Rob, that is what Lost turned out to be all along, yes? I stopped watching Lost around Season 4 I believe, but I kept up with some of the chatter on this site and others. Even if that turned out to be the case for the folks on the island in Lost it was still a quality piece of television. Now some of the cruelty exhibited towards each other by the other inhabitants of of "Purgatory," well I guess that was the point, to show that the behavior of folks in Purgatory (who maybe are not aware they are in Purgatory) is not all that different from how some folks would treat each other in the living world.
Anyway, even if this show turns out to be bad it will still be good and fun to watch. Planning to record but will probably watch it as it airs.
