Loki Season 2 - news, rumors, etc.

I was just on IMDB looking for the run time for the last episode (Ep 6) and noticed that the show is listed as 7 episodes and showing an episode for season 2. Has this been announced or is it a presumption on IMDB's part? I don't want to even look at the last episode thread to see spoilers to check on this...

The end of Loki S01E06 had a screen that said "continues in Loki Season 2", confirming it's happening.

‘Loki’ Director Kate Herron Responds to Russell T. Davies’ Criticism of Bisexual Reveal

also: Loki” director Kate Herron says she had a “conversation” with Marvel Studios about returning to direct the Disney+ series’ second season, but she decided it wasn’t for her.

“I was on the show for like three years in total,” she told me Sunday at the “Loki” FYC Emmy event at the Pacific Design Center. “I just felt like I poured everything into it. It’s almost like a campfire story that every filmmaker kind of brings their take and their perspective. I just felt like I gave so much to this. I was like, ‘You know what, I feel like this was my effort for ‘Loki.’ I felt like having someone new and with fresh eyes — that, for me, is what will make a good season.”

For those who loved the score of Loki Season 1, Natalie Holt is back for Season 2.

Looks fun. We need a good Marvel series to help us forget about Secret Invasion.

I like that promo artwork.

Before Loki season 1, I hated the Loki character from all the movies. After watching season 1, my feelings about the character did a 180, which just shows how good season 1 was.

Now that it's been a couple years, Loki may be the only Disney+ MCU show that really stuck with me. Some of it was cheap. But the score and aesthetic was really good. And I really felt the epic-ness of the Kang story (which also saved the new Antman).

Season 2? Shit. I guess I have to finish s1....I thought it was a one off and I'm still having a hard time finishing Loki s1. I'm trying to go thought the Disney+ MCU Timeline (very cool that they line it all up this way) and tried to finish a Loki ep and got a little distracted and bored. Went on to the next thing in the timeline.

Loki's first season was generally well-received, but I didn't really care for it. All of the multiverse stuff and timelines is just confusing and not terribly interesting. (Mind you, I have read, enjoyed, and *mostly* understood Grant Morrison's The Invisibles.)

But much of Loki just came off as silly and convoluted for the sake of being convoluted. In a lot of ways, I think it was the beginning of the downfall of the MCU where they started introducing too much silliness into what was, originally, a fairly grounded universe. I mean, yeah, we had Celestials and Inifinity Stones, but now there's this whole Kafkaesque bureaucracy behind the scenes and a multiverse with Alligator Lokis.
