When an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the dog he didn't want may be the partner he needs. "Turner & Hooch" stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1989 film of the same name.

That looks like a good family show. My daughter loves dogs so we will definitely be checking this out.

I think this as well as The Mighty Ducks would be fun to see sequels to, but as films and not as episodic shows. I wanted to like The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, but lost interest pretty fast.

Wow, I haven't seen anything with Vanessa Lengies or Lindsy Fonseca in a while.

It was good overall, but it draaaaagged having to watch week to week. That was definitely a mistake not releasing all at once.

Gotta post the recreation of the original poster...

If the dog doesn’t die at the end of season 1, I’ll be mad.

Yeah, I think you’re probably right. Certain shows like that one and this would probably work to drop all at once.

In the case of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers it was largely nostalgia driven, but being aimed more at kids it didn’t have enough of a hook to make me want to tune in weekly. That and this would probably work better as binge watches.

Excited to watch this and folks, The Mighty Ducks show on D+ turned out to be a pretty darn good watch. Not going to go crazy defending the Ducks show in this thread, but seeing as I am not a sports guy, or big fan of sports themed films/tv I was entertained by Game Changers. Anyway, actually really looking forward to this and glad July is right around the corner.

I guess once this airs I'll have to prepare for the onslaught of questions when people see me out walking my dog.

Yes, this has Baby Yoda written all of it in the popularity factor. I couldn't even play basketball without people assuming I was John Stamos!

The 2nd episode was a funny homage to Die Hard. This is a good family show.

I started watching- the show is empty, vapid and meaningless, just like the movie. Should I have expected anything else?

Don't know if I'll make it to the end.

It is a kid/family show? Did you expect high art?

It's not really a "kid" show. I'm not exactly sure what it is. It's actually a lot more adult than either Big Shots and the Mighty Ducks. There are really no kids in it.

It has mostly non-violent action sequences and a lot of dog hijinks. It is most definitely a kid-themed show, with some adult themes.

I would disagree that it is more adult than Big Shot. That show dealt with some heavier themes, including same sex teenage relationships. But I guess that is a matter of opinion, though.

I do not disagree that this show is not high art (or can touch high art with a 50 foot pole), but it is just a fun breezy watch with some surprisingly decent action set-pieces. It helps that I really like the cast, seriously, Lyndsy Fonseca, Vanessa Lengies, big fans of both actresses' so nice to see them together in one show.

Not sure how same sex teenage relationships makes a show more adult.

How did this thread devolve into a spat between The Questyen and Deftones over whether or not one should have kids? This thread is for discussion of a show that is fun to watch but nothing spectacular. Not every show will be a classic that will be fondly remembered 20 years from now, but in the here and now Turner & Hooch is entertaining enough.

Anyway, maybe a thread should be created where fellow DVD talkers can hurl jibes at each other with no fear of being suspended. With limits of course, if folks call each other ethnic slurs that is off-bounds, and some other exchanges would go too far, but the exchange between The Questyen and Deftones is fairly harmless when all is said and done and would fit right in with such a thread, it is just that a discussion of whether or not one should have kids is not really a good fit for this thread.

I explained my reasoning in why I thought why this was less "adult" of a show and he took a shot at me, so I took one back. It is one thing to disagree with someone but another to tell someone they shouldn't have kids. Cheap shot.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd episode, the show is getting better. The dog trainer is cute.

You got called out for making a homophobic statement and then responded like a child with the generic " You don't have kids" response instead of any actual reasoning. I stand by my statement.
