Re: Loki (S1E03) -- "Lamentis" -- 6/23/21

Fun episode. The fight sequences were great. Loved seeing a new planet that was different than what we had seen before. Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino have great banter back and forth. And we get confirmation of Loki's sexual orientation. That should make some heads explode.

The reveal about the TVA agents was interesting. Wonder if they have been kidnapped and mind wiped to work there. I am assuming with Mobius' love of jet skis and that soda he drinks, he was somehow taken from the 90s. Maybe these people were all going to die in some catastrophic event in their time and were instead taken to work at the TVA?

The production design on this show is awesome.

So are they just combining Lady Loki and Enchantress into one character?

The sequence with them running to the Arc was well done.

I kept waiting for green doors to open behind them and take them back to the TVA... you know, since the were hiding in an apocalyptic event no one would survive from.

Great episode. I know it’s a Wednesday but it’s a shame there isn’t more action here.

I knew the song Dark Moon by Gale Storm at the ending as my late grandparent have the single of the song. Good memories.

Really not digging her character right now... she just comes across as Loki's little sister, rather than his equal. (I'm guessing the actress is 10-15yrs younger than Tom, which doesn't help)

I found it to be just an ok episode, which is fine if the series is longer, but when it's only six episodes all of them really need to hit.

Great episode, cool action scenes and everything looked amazing, how much did this thing cost, damn! And very interesting reveal about the TVA agents.

I'm sure that will happen at the beginning of next episode, unless some deus ex machina takes place.

Another great episode!

Not surprised that she called the TVA fascists. I thought that's where things were going.

I assume that there's no fixing the timeline in this series. This would be the start of the multiverse that will be prevalent in the next Doctor Strange and Spiderman.

I'm guessing Mobius figures out where Loki went, goes after him against the advice of the usual suspects, and Lokette tells him that he was timeknapped by the TVA from his old life. Bringing him into their plans.

and the final scene of the series will be

Spoiler:
Loki standing on a beach watching Mobius riding his jet ski.

I figured their meddling would prevent the ark from escaping the planet, but this way worked out pretty well too.

Short episode, but they ended it at a logical point.

I'm usually shit at guessing a woman's age, but this time I wasn't far off - I thought she looked about 40, and she will be next year. She's around 2.5 years younger than Hiddleston.

Great show. I wasn't happy that it was Mobius free but Sylvie made up for it.

They're really dumbing down Loki's abilities to make this show work. Those random people on the train were able to fight a God who's thousands of years old and throw him out a window? They really want us to believe that?

Aside from that, super fun show so far.

Well if you looked up the history of the planet they were on (I had to), it is in Kree space. We have seen Kree to be a powerful race. Maybe the people on there are are Kree they use that as an explanation?

I mean, maybe but they didn't explain it at all. Just random people from that planet who were able to hold their own against 2 Gods with centuries of experience. I don't think a Kree would be a match for Loki either. That doesn't even include his magic which has only been used for comedic effect so far.

The Loki we've known since Avengers would have just killed everyone on the train without a 2nd thought, especially since we knew it was their place to all die anyway.

Nerfing powers, it's an MCU staple. It was an okay episode, but the first two were great episodes.

Yeah I'm not getting all the adulation for this episode. It was OK, but it really ground the story to a halt. As someone mentioned earlier, if there were more than 6 episodes, fine, but this was wasted time.

What's also clear is that the best thing about this show is Owen Wilson, and when he's not around, much of its charm is missing.

This reminded me of some of the worse episodes of modern Doctor Who, along with the companion bossing around The Doctor the whole time.

I thought the dialog on the train (and a lot of the story) just seemed forced, like they were trying to fill time. I think there are probably better ways to flesh out the character details they were trying to explore in this episode. This was my least favorite episode so far, but the show overall has been great in my opinion.

Re: Loki (S1E03) -- "Lamentis" -- 6/23/21

One of the comments said it best:
Loki: has the power to lift a part of a building

Also Loki: getting thrown out of a train by 2 common human-like aliens

The guy rather easily survived getting absolutely obliterated by Hulk in the first Avengers movie. Two alien cops though? A problem.
