Says it’s stage 4. Doesn’t specifically say what kind except that he had a lump in his throat and it’s apparently spread.

Sad news. I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone.
I know Diamond has a pretty terrible reputation among the SbtB cast and he’s had it pretty rough over the years but I’ve always kind of felt bad for the guy. I think a lot of us would have ended up the same way if we had grown up as the “ugly” one in a group of beautiful people. That couldn’t have been good on his self-esteem.

Still, all those years of him shitting on the cast and weird behavior alienated him even more. I'm pretty sure that he would have been invited to the reboot, the Jimmy Fallon reunion and the EW special if he didn't have all that baggage with him. He was the longest tenured Saved By the Bel cast member beside Belding.

That's a humane take. I never watched the awful show, but I have seen the guy here and there. Actually, he was in an episode or two of "Wonder Years". What you say is true: Once Hollywood was through with him, and had no more "ugly dork" roles for him, he was tossed aside like yesterday's newspaper.
The guy was a child actor who got a part on a sitcom when he was a teenager, and he milked that one role for all it was worth until he was in his early 20s. Good for him.
In all that time did he get an education? Go to college?
It is possible to leave acting behind and just move on with your life in some career outside show business.

No comment on the cancer.

Anyway, I hope he comes back from this. He's young enough he could still have a 20+ year career doing something.

He passed away today. Confirmed by TMZ and Rolling Stone. I didn’t watch much of Saved by the Bell, but still too bad. RIP.

Damn. I know his prognosis was grim, but didn't expect to see him go so fast.

Sad news. The dude went fast. I wonder how long he ignored his warning signs until he finally broke down and went to the doctor.
He never had much of a career after SbtB. I think I only ever saw him on shitty reality shows. I also seem to remember him on some sort of trashy celebrity boxing show.
He held onto that Saved by the Bell job as long as possible though. Last time I saw him was on the New Class and he was a grown-ass man still pushing that pre-pubescent voice cracking stuff.

I talked to Dustin for a bit after his standup set at the Cubby Bear here in Chicago a few years back. Worst comedy set ever using an “angry former star” persona with X-rated shock thrown in for good measure, but his offstage demeanor was the complete opposite and we had a very nice chat.

Very sad. Our health can turn at any time and we'll be gone.
I always wonder how something like cancer can reveal itself so quickly. And what causes it. Luckily my parents are in their 70's and will probably make it to their 80's. I live a pretty clean lifestyle. It can still be taken away at any time.
RIP

It seemed like his life started going downhill right after I saw him. It's a shame he is gone.
