Interested to see what everyone's favorite tv shows of 2020 were. I watched over 100 shows so it was tough getting down to a top 20. I had another ten that were tough to cut.

I'm going to try to stick with shows that aired their seasons this calendar year and completed airing their runs whether it's a 1/2 season or the entire season.

The Mandalorian season 2 (Disney +) - What more needs to be said?

The Last Dance (ESPN) - Probably one of the best sports documentaries ever.

The Undoing (HBO) - A pretty solid 1 and done miniseries with good stars.

Yellowstone season 3 (Paramount)

Warrior season 2 (Cinemax) - Kickass show that no one watches

Doom Patrol season 2 (HBO Max) - Such a weird, but fun show.

Taste the Nation (Hulu) - A really good food and travel entertainment show hosted by Padma Lakshmi. Smartly written and beautiful cinematography

Fear the Walking Dead's 1st half of season 6 (AMC) This may surprise some of you, but so far this is a really good comeback season

Gangs of London (AMC+) A really awesome and crazy season

The Flight Attendant (HBO Max) Yeah it had some dumb moments, but I was never bored watching it.

Liar season 2 (Sundance) British show that really got little to no attention

The Boys season 2 (Amazon)

Star Trek: Picard (CBS All-Access) I did enjoy this a lot even though it got extremely mixed reaction.

Better Call Saul (AMC) I forgot that this aired in early 2020. Good season.

1. The Queen's Gambit (Netflix) - Loved it
2. The Mandalorian S2 (Disney+) - The final was awesome
3. The Boys S2 (Amazon)
4. The Crown S4 (Netflix)
5. Wayne (Amazon) - Crazy show, the girl remind me of a young Valerie Bertinelli
6. The Right Stuff (Disney+)
7. Ozark S3 (Netflix)
8. Alice In Borderland (Netflix) - Very weird it like a cross between Battle Royale and The Game
9. World's Toughest Race (Amazon) - Kind knew who would win after third episode. The team from Japan was tough to watch.

I always wondered what that Alice in Borderland was. It pops up on my Netflix recommended all the time. I'll have to check it out since I love both those things you used to describe it.

Enjoyed these 20 this year, not really ranked but sort of...

#1 - Ted Lasso - A terrific tonic in a stressful year.
#2 - The Queen's Gambit - Best mini-series I've seen in a long time...
#3 - The Mandalorian - Great 2nd season and a great finale
#4 - The Boys - One of the best things on Amazon
#5 - Wayne (from last year YouTube, but found it on Amazon this year.) - This was a hoot
#6 - After Life, really well done second season...
#7 - Better Call Saul (AMC) - Probably should have this in the top 5
#8 - Star Trek: Picard will probably re-subscribe for S2 - Didn't love the finale, but loved seeing Jean Luc again!
#9 - The Undoing (HBO) - I enjoyed this more than I thought I would...
#10 - The New Pope S2, I think this aired this year, good stuff
#11 - Ozark - Great finale for S3
#12 - Schitt's Creek - A real treat to binge this one this year...
#13 - Worlds Toughest Race, rock solid Adventure reality
#14 - Top Chef - Still standing after all these years
#15 - Survivor - Jumped back in after a 10 season hiatus and now watching with my Kids
#16 - Amazing Race - Hope we get another season
#17 - Right Stuff - this was pretty solid, I love Space shows and this one sort of delivered...
#18 - The Unicorn - One of the few new decent Sitcoms to debut
#19 - Plot Against America - Thought this was a well done period piece based on the Roth novel
#20 - Bosch/Jack Ryan - Forgot if these aired this year, but enjoyed both of them on Amazon Prime
#21 Forgot about Perry mason, this finished strong!

Several incredible shows this year!

1.) The Great - by far, the biggest surprise of the year!
2.) Ted Lasso - warm, light hearted and funny
3.) Ozark - just another well-acted season, brilliant work
4.) The Boys - Better than S1
5.)The Queen's Gambit - shockingly good, not even a chess fan
6.) The Mandalorian - duh!
7.) Alice in Borderland - trippy and violent, I like
8.) Umbrella Academy S2
9.) I'll Be Gone in the Dark (limited)

I agree with a lot of the shows mentioned. But I found that I watched and enjoyed a lot documentaries and documentary series this year, including:

The Vow -- I know, way too many episodes for the amount of content, but I was mesmerized.
Love Fraud -- How could a guy as schlubby as I am attract so many women
I'll Be Gone in the Dark
McMillions
My Psychedelic Love Story
The Reagans
The Comedy Store

The only genre I have watched consistently this past year, were documentaries. Mostly on PBS and occasionally on a smithsonian channel and youtube.

Stuff like:

- Frontline
- Hacking Your Mind
- Cosmos: Possible Worlds
- various docs hosted by Lucy Worsley
- Magic Numbers
- Rise of the Nazis
- Nova
- Secrets of the Dead
- The FBI Declassified (hosted by Alana de la Garza)
- various docs about the Hong Kong protests
- various docs about China's push into AI


In terms of actual fictional drama shows where I eventually watched all the episodes of the current season, so far only one show: Tribal (8 episodes).

I forgot that Bosch season 6 aired in April. That would also go under my favorites for 2020.

Mandalorian - Best show on TV in a long time.
Also great:
Challenger: Final Flight

Eh...TV
Tiger King
Arrowverse - out of some sense of loyalty at this point
Star Trek Discovery - such a promising season that turned out so dull.
