Best line of the show so far, when Selina says to Steve, “Yeah, because 70 is the new 40” and then Martin Short gives what I think is a genuine reaction to it, which makes me believe the line might have been ad libbed.

Yes, I looked up Martin’s (76–as of now, not whenever they were shooting) and Short’s (71) ages during the episode.

The actress who plays the detective kicked all sorts of ass on High Fidelity last year, which was the first thing I'd ever seen her in. Glad she's getting more work.

Wife was interested (she's getting into that phase of her life where she likes the murder story stuff), so we watched the first ep which wasn't really doing anything for us, until the last few minutes where it did the thing that the first episode of Stranger Things did and absolutely snared me.
We then did the next two right away. What an absolutely great concept and I'm loving that Selena Gomez is holding her own against two comedy legends. I only knew her by name but looking up her past works I see she's been doing stuff since she was a little kid on Barney and Friends.

Wife is also a big Sting fan so that was cool to see him.

That was a bold episode. Very risky. It was very well done. Had some good comedy despite the lack of talking.

That was a trip. Obviously the least funny episode of the show but really brilliant story telling. I was impressed.

Evil did a similar episode recently but their reason for not speaking made a little more sense. I found some of the scenes of silence a little too forced and unusual but the storytelling itself was really well done.

I'm so used to shows having to find its footing that it's odd seeing one so well realized right off the bat. Also a nice reminder that Lane can do more than play caricatures... Ted Lasso has its awards competitor.

Thats a good point. This episode reminded me of “The Vat of Acid” episode of Rick & Morty or “Fish out of Water” in Bojack. Silent, Audacious and instantly recognizable as a classic. But those were late run episodes. This was still the first season.

And do I really need to say how much more I am enjoying this season of television than Ted Lasso S2?

Well we have all the pieces now. Only thing still a mystery is why Tim wanted the ring back all those years later. Martin finally saying something in the last scene was a good touch.

The scrabble scene was hilarious.

That really was a fantastic concept and execution of the idea. And that reveal wasn't a "gasp" moment but a "oh no, this is all terrible" moment.
