Re: G4 Network to relaunch in 2021

I imagine they are going after today's Twitch audience who stream others playing videogames. That currently is where most of the online buzz and energy in the gaming sector lies and likely lines up with their intended advertising demographics. I have a hunch the new G4 won't resemble the old G4 in much but name and a few old hosts.

Some very...interesting folks in the professional Twitch scene. I became world class in a certain online game and started getting Twitch users begging me to stream my games for their channel.

My Xfinity box now shows the programs in the guide. Lots of Ninja Warrior to start tomorrow. Looks like AoTS doesn't start until Thursday.

The channel still doesn't show up on Zap2It or my older Comcast box's guide.

I recognize Adam Sessler and the Completionist just from random YouTube recommendations. I've watched a few of the Completionist's videos. He basically 100%s games and then gives his review of it.

G4's tv guide on their website https://g4tv.com/schedule has AOTS starting on Wednesday with Adam Savage from Mythbusters as the guest.

They finally posted a schedule on twitter:

So they are going to survive off of one show a day? The other 20 odd hours is American Ninja or something?

Re: G4 Network to relaunch in 2021

Well, it looks like on Comcast, this is one of the IP channels. So I can only watch on my one TV with an X1 box. I can't record using my Media Center DVR either. I can only use the X1 DVR which sucks in comparison. Guess I can probably just watch on Youtube it sounds like.

They only had 4 or 5 original shows on the original G4 channel. I'm sure they'll add more shows as the channel grows.

Here's the feed for this week's Xplay

Here's the AOTS feed (AOTS starts around the 2 hour and 10 minute mark)

AOTS as we remember it is as of now going to air one day a week. (Thursdays)

This is a fucking hassle. I'm not bothering anymore trying to watch this thing.

All you have to do is go to the G4TV YouTube page to watch it. It just takes a little fast forwarding, but they really should clip the episodes and upload them so you don't have to wade through The Black Hokage playing GTA San Andreas for two hours before AOTS starts. They should also upload the episodes to the AOTS and Xplay YouTube feeds instead of just the G4 feed.

Yeah, but I'm not going to wad through a 5 hours stream to what I know can see is just a basement-style AOTS. I'll let the twitch streamers enjoy this for however long it lasts.

If they do a segment about lame relaunches, they could feature their own show.

They have been making jokes about it on AOTS. They actually cut the AOTS stream down from 5 hours to two hours. I just looked at it now.

Yes, yes, stop your bragging. We all know you were world champion at My Little Pony Equestria.

ICYMI, there's been a lot of online backlash to the new G4 this past week after this on air rant:

She’s totally right though. Just sayin’.

I totally agree with her message, but she says "Morgan Webb and Olivia Munn did not exist to be nice on the eyes for you."
You can't say that the old G4 didn't purposely exploit the sexual appeal of its female hosts--especially Munn, Underwood, Haislip, and a few others. The 'sexy gamer girl' image is one that they promoted for a long time, so their hands are not clean (;)) when it comes to the sexism and misogyny in gaming.

So my cable system finally added G4 back. It's amazing how little has changed since its original incarnation. A few new faces reviewing games, but largely similar programming.

Attack of the Show is almost unwatchable now.

Are you watching the Thursday show or the loop or vibe check? The Thursday show was similar to the old show.

I had it set to record on my dvr.
it r3corded every broadcast.
I tried watching the Thursday show.

Not clicking for me.

I did see that Peraira a few weeks ago said he has cancer but he didn’t go into details so not sure if he added any specifics.

I think the Thursday show actually airs on Friday for you. It should be the only one that has Around The Net.

He has skin cancer, but they caught it early.

Yeah, she's right, but I have my doubts how many of the female hosts on the old G4 shows gamed much (or at all). They were there specifically because of their looks to attract the male audience.
