Great episode but...
The color grading for this show is downright awful. I can’t believe the editors looked at this episode and thought it was ok. They put so much money into producing every episode then go and ruin them.

Solid episode. Dawson was perfect as Ahsoka. It was also cool seeing Michael Biehn in this as well. Took me a few seconds to figure out it was him.
And I think this was probably Dave Filoni's best episode as a live action director. I know he loves the Ahsoka character and it clearly shows here.
Grogu is going to take awhile to catch on. But, it was nice to see The Child acknowledge the name.

So if Grogu was alive during the Clone Wars, is it official now that Yoda and Yaddle hooked up?
Noice!

Awesome episode. Loved seeing Ahsoka in live action. Rosario Dawson nailed the character. The voice threw me off a bit, but I got used to it. Really hope we see her again.
Cool to learn the real name of The Child. Also awesome hearing Thrawn’s name. Wonder when he’ll come into play.
The showdown at the end was great. Space epic with western and Asian influences thrown in. This show encapsulates what Star Wars at its best can be.

Loved it. Dawson was great as Ahsoka and she had a badass introduction. Her fight with the Magistrate was very cool, too. I hope we see more of her this season, and I would really love if she got a live-action series of her own.
The new quest--"go and seek enlightenment at the top of a mountain"--is a bit cliche, but on-brand for SW and I have no doubt these writers and directors will make it a fun journey.

Never watched the animated SW shows. Why are Ahsoka's lightsabers white? (I don't care for them because they look like florescent bulbs. I guess they're not as ugly as the Darksaber, though.) How was she able to communicate with Grogu? Does she read minds or does she understand his babbling? I was surprised Michael Biehn was another one-and-done character like Titus Welliver.

Haven’t gotten to Rebels yet. She starts with green lightsabers on The Clone Wars and later on gets blue ones.

Fantastic. I kept thinking about 1983 me envisioning a future with this kind of story and how I just wouldn’t believe it.
Ahsoka did look and sound different but some live action transitions just have to be that way and I loved to see her nonetheless.
The voice actress for her, Ashley Eckstein is a tiny slip of a woman and couldn’t pull it off in live action but she will always be the first Ahsoka.
And of course the interaction with Grogu and why she refused to train him was some deep lore stuff. I highly recommend watching The Clone Wars and Rebels , there is so much story told in those shows.
As for how they were communicating, they’re both powerful Force users, think Luke and Leia at the end of TESB or Kylo and Rey Force-Skyping in the sequels.

Now they just need to get Sebastian Stan to make an appearance as Luke Skywalker.
He's the only one that can do it.

lol I read this really quick and thought you were talking about changing from Ashley Eckstein to Rosario Dawson and I was like yeah Ashley really is cute. Even though it would have been really cool to see her as live action Ahsoka Rosario Dawson was really incredible. Now I really REALLY wish I had kept up with a lot of Star Wars media outside of the movies. I know just enough to know how much I'm missing out on.

This episode was total filler...
IN THE SENSE THAT I TOTALLY FILLED THE CUP!
Just awesome seeing a live-action Ahsoka, though a little jarring at first not hearing Ashley Eckstein's voice. Rosario was great though. I hope we get a series with her. Seems like they are setting up a search for Thrawn (and Ezra). I wonder what else is in store and if she'll be in any of the final 3 episodes. I would've assumed we'd see Rex with her, but I guess not... or maybe in a later episode. There are so many moving pieces that have been set up so far, I don't know if they'll revisit them all this season.
Cool location... loved the Kurosawa / Japanese motif going on.
I barely recognized Michael Biehn.

Ahsoka!!!! Grogu........Grogu????? Grogu?!............ Grogu!!!!! OMG Beskar is "laser sword" proof?! That Asian guy was a Disney imagineer. OMG does getting electrocuted in Star Wars always cause your bones to show through your muscle...skin...and clothes? What?! Grogu was TRAINED in the jedi temple? OMG hints of the Yoda theme. So Yoda definitely knew him...OMG Yoda and Yaddle? Is that worse than Palpatine and whoever he screwed? Are we going to get a scene of someone stealing/hiding baby Yoda (sorry Grogu is going to be a tough sell) while Darth Vader is in the background/foreground slashing away at younglings? OMG is baby Yoda going to be a sith by watching Mando die (doubt it)?! Finally a real life western duel!! Mando is so quick on the draw. Loth Cat! OMG that fight at the end was so incredible. Choreography was awesome with both being confident but not arrogant and being very aware how capable their opponent was. I wonder if they had macarons in the Jedi Temple? That last piece of concept art in the credits, so amazing. OMG Thrawn!! Luke! He's another jedi we know for sure that's still alive in this time frame. Could it be possible....
I joke but honestly the past couple of episodes were so full that I actually kind of see the filler argument now
. Like they just blew open the doors of where this series could be heading. I really hope that they are leading towards an Ahsoka centric spin off series. How amazing would that be. I just want Star Wars to continue to exist in this part of the time line for awhile. It's the perfect blend of OT, PT and ST.

Eh, I'd rather they not pull too many characters from the movies into this show, and especially not prominent characters like Luke, Han, Leia, Chewy, and Lando. R2-D2 and C-3PO appearances may be inevitable, since they pop up in pretty much everything. This show has done a great job of using the SW 'world-building' foundation laid out so well in the OT and the EU, and even expanding on it. So far, it seems that Favreau and Filoni have been doing a good job of keeping the Skywalker saga stuff as mostly background, like the reference to the Death Star destruction in the season opener and Ahsoka's mention of Yoda in this episode. I'm sure that's partly by necessity as they likely don't have permission to use those main characters, but I hope they'd avoid those characters anyway.

Watched the episode again. Everything was so good. The planet looked great, the Japanese influence was nice, and once again, the sound effects during the final battle was amazing.
I especially loved when the bo staff was slammed against the ground - the sound effect was legit.
