We watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on PBS the other day as a family, it was a lot of fun.

Even better, you now don't have to sit through commercials.

I think that's when a lot of us just bought the discs so we'd always have them available.

These shirts are kind of like suits for Hawaii. They're as formal as it gets, outside of a prom or wedding. They're extremely well made with a proprietary fabric blend. They're always expensive, like $108 new for all their original designs, but this one is just a little more here because of a marketing fee, I assume.

Yeah, not cheap, but pretty standard for that kind of shirt.

I watched Great Pumpkin on Apple over the weekend, but I also have DVDs, BDs, and MA UHD versions. I think it’s good that they’re also on TV, even though PBS won’t have Dolly Madison ads.

Sony to Acquire Control of Peanuts in $457 Million Deal

Sony is paying more than a few peanuts to get majority ownership of Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts franchise featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown and more.

Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) announced that they entered into a definitive agreement with Canadian media company WildBrain to indirectly acquire all of the 41% stake held by WildBrain in Peanuts Holdings LLC.

A poll of Americans just named the Charlie Brown Christmas special as their second-favorite Christmas "movie" after Home Alone.

Home Alone, the best Christmas movie?

You know, it really wouldn't surprise me at all if the majority of Americans today would choose the live action version of The Grinch over the original animated 1966 Boris Karloff-narrated one.

They have. All those new, live-action Grinch commercials are an indication of it.

You have to remember for most under 30, Carrey's Grinch is the version they grew up on.

In better news, the original Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer was the 3rd-most popular Christmas special/movie.

Oh, I'm aware. Just one more reason why I'm glad I don't belong to Gen Z or Alpha.

Yeah, that's good news (at least until the inevitable live-action remake comes out).

Will Santa still be a raging asshole in the remake? If they make Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer modern then Hermy would go back to work with AR15 and take out all of the other elves instead of running away. Rudolph would traffic the Misfit Toys out to perverts and Mrs Claus and Santa would be found dead in a murder/suice.

My favorite holiday special is A Charlie Brown Kwanzaa. It's on youtube if you want to watch it. I'll not post it here for reasons that will be obvious if you watch it.

Yeah, I could barely make it through 10 seconds. I knew it was a bad sign when I had to confirm I was an adult first in order to view it ... -eek-

I feel a little ashamed, but I watch it every year and still laugh way more than I should.
