What are they up to now, 3 Shameless actors on the show? Did I miss anyone?

Really enjoyed tonight's episode. It felt like classic/retro 80's "Roseanne" to me. If the ratings continue to drop, I hope ABC moves it back to Tuesdays at 8:00 PM. Or somehow move it somewhere where it's safe again. But found this interesting article.

It's nice now that everyone else is helping Dan pay his mortgage so he didn't have to sell his motorcycle.

Katey Segal is a really nice addition to the show.

She definitely wanted to be a part of it, and worked it into her schedule even though she's also working on another upcoming series..

Based on what I read, it's still ABC's highest rated show on Wednesday, but their ratings are still dropping. Are the producers of the show concerned about this?

Maybe without Modern Family, Wednesday on ABC is just not as lucrative.

Agreed. The writing has just been terrible these past seasons. Still watch for nostalgia.

You hit the nail on the head: I'm watching for nostalgia only now.

Seasons!? This is only it's third season as "The Conners". When did you think the writing was good? And I think the writing has been mostly terrible this particular season. Mostly good S1 and S2 with some rough spots here and there. If I were in charge of the show, I'd dial down the over acting for sure. From everyone.

Seriously. Is ABC purposely killing this show !?

The show isn't funny. It's like a half-hour soap opera each week instead of a comedy. It's not just ABC killing it by moving it, it's the writing.

You know what's the best way to solve big financial problems for you and your family? Having another kid.

Ha! So true.

Almost forgot... What's with Darlene's boyfriend's beard? He looks like a werewolf. And why can't Jackie color her hair at home?

"I'm a forty-three year-old single woman with two kids by a deadbeat dad, who lives with her dad in house that he's about to lose because he's mortgaged out the ass, and barely scrape by with a shitty job I'll probably get fired from because I can't stop being an asshole to everyone I work with, who got knocked up by my unemployed boyfriend. I couldn't be happier! Life is great!"

I swear, sometimes I think the shows writers do this purposely as a PSA on how NOT to manage your money and live your life.

He had that beard in the later seasons of Mad Men as well. I can understand a thick full beard, but I never got the who point of letting it bush up high off the cheek.

Poor Darlene, all her dreams being crushed...loss of writing job, stuck at Dad's house, working at Wellman's, and now unable to have any more babies...

I'm surprised no one mentioned the throwaway line by Dan that facetiously explains Jerry's absence.

"There used to be another kid around her but I ate him"

I just noticed that "Roseanne" is on Peacock and they have all 10 seasons. I'm glad they decided to air S10 again after it was banned everywhere due to Roseanne's foolish behavior. I'm watching it again now and it's actually really good. And as much as I enjoy "The Conners", it's just not the same without Roseanne. I said this before, but I wish ABC would have just suspended her for a few episodes because of her actions. And maybe force her to seek professional help during that time. Because the woman has problems.

Is Jerry dead or something? thought in season 1 of the Connors they said something that he fell out of a boat and drowned or something?

I think the family said Jerry was out of contact in the premiere of the Roseanne reboot, but a few episodes ago Dan said he has 3 kids (not 4). The producers said they're choosing to ignore some things from Season 8 and 9 of the original Roseanne, like the Conners winning the lottery, Jackie's son Andy (and apparently her ex-husband Fred) and Jerry.

I was thinking back to Jackie in the first few seasons of Roseanne when she was the woman about town, dressing up and going out with all those guys. Now she's been reduced to this pathetic psycho with all her "Woe is me" BS that she's using against the vet who really likes her. I mean, where did all that come from? She's never talked about Bev doing any crazy shit to her over the years. I was given the impression that she just didn't like her and get along with her.

And does anyone else think the actor playing Robin from the Wellman factory is a Trans?

Yeah, this show is slowly falling apart at the seams. I hope it gets back on track soon. As you pointed out, Jackie is the worst part. She's beyond over the top and pathetic. And can someone please do something about her and Dan's hair already? No other characters on the show have become that disheveled. Louise is close to Jackie's age, and she looks great. Same with that Wellman Trans manager.
