Last Chance U

This season takes place at Laney College, Oakland CA. I was very disappointed. It was not up to the level of past shows. Coach Beam is 1 foul mouthed MF'er. The players dropping the N word constantly. I did learn that CA is different from previous episode schools in that they don't provide dorms for the players. None of the CA Jr. college schools do. I guessing the season was cut short due to Covid as they don't cover all the games.
Also, with Covid I wonder if we'll see a new season for a 2020 team.

Re: Last Chance U

I disagree a bit. While Beam did curse a ton, I felt he was the most level, consistent and kind coach of the three last chance u has showcased. His family life was model and I felt he was a good role model for his students.

these students are remarkable. While their struggles and stories are similar to past players from the first four seasons, the set up of Laney ( no dorms, amenities) and their sheer will to show up is incredible I found myself rooting for their success more than I had in past seasons.

regarding next year, I have read that last chance u will shift to similar basketball programs. Bummed that there will not be future football seasons

Great show, one of Netflix best and most underrated.

I haven't watched it yet, but the coach would have a tough time passing Coach Brown in terms of language. That guy is a real piece of work.
