Regis was a legend. I've always liked him. A great host and personality and a amazing career in TV.

Really sad to hear this news. Regis was always a huge wrestling fan and that's why he had many wrestlers on his shows throughout the years. 2020 year really sucks.

Not sure why, but I had no idea he was that old. Hard to be too distraught over one who was a month shy of 89 and died of natural causes.

RIP. Wasn't Regis always better known for his own morning talk show or Who Wants to be a Millionaire instead of America's Got Talent?

I’ve had the privilege of meeting Regis Philbin a few times and he was always kind, funny and genuinely interested in what you had to say. I’m so sad to hear about his passing - he was a class act.

When I was out of school and when I was off from work, I always watched Live With Regis and Kathie Lee and Later with Kelly Ripa. He hold the Guinness Book of World Record with nearly 17,000 hours on television, surpassing the record held by Hugh Downs. No one will ever come close to matching that record. He was a class act all the way and another part of old Hollywood is gone. Rest In Peace.

Always liked Regis, but I rarely watched his morning show. I never missed him on Letterman though. He and Dave had great chemistry.

I did not know who he was until I saw Dana Carvey spoof him on SNL.
One of those old school broadcasting legends gone. I don't think Seacrest will be tha highly remembered.

Oh he loved The Fighting Irish. Would always talk about game on Mondays show. Such a true gentleman of entertainment.

America's Got Talent is a super weird credit to put in his obit headline. That was a job he had for a few months.
He was an iconic talk show host for over 30 years. And he won an Emmy for his work as a game show host.
Seriously, the thread title needs to be changed.

Regis always claimed that Kelly Ripa never had anything to do with him after he retired from Live. I'm not sure if it's true, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was. She has always seemed like such a diva. It's sad they never asked him back to co-host when someone was out or on vacation.

I watched Regis and Kathie Lee during summers when school was off....and of course, watched the first couple of yrs of Millionaire. He projected such a warm, positive persona, that's what made him someone you wanted to spend time with. It's not rocket science, I don't know why more entertainers don't take that approach.

I worked at FOX Sports when Regis took his final job as the co-host of Crowd goes Wild.
It was a terrible show and got cancelled after 1 season. FOX hired him because it was a start up network and he was a well known name who could help launch it. But, he was only signed to a 1-year contract, so he didn't stay on in any other capacity after it was cancelled.
