Definitely piled a lot of Star Wars New Hope references into one episode.

This one gave me an almost Kung-Fu vibe. Mando meets people and gets into adventures -- didn't know he was that altruistic. It was an ok episode. It was about 29-30 minutes without credits.

While I enjoyed the episode and ALL the Star Wars references, I could also understand how some people may find it annoying. This is precisely why I don't have a hard on for Filoni and his stupid hat as most other Star Wars fans do. He's got too much Lucas baggage under there. All of his projects feel like a passion project for GL instead of his own ideas. "Look George! Look at what I'm doing for you!"

Yeah, this one falls under the too much fan service banner for me. With all the places in the galaxy far, far way why keep going back to Tatooine?

I haven’t watched it yet. I’m off Friday’s but still tend to be busy throughout the day.

Yes, right. Go back and look what time most people starting commenting. It was at least after 5pm eastern. It is only 7:20 eastern. You’re reaching.

I enjoyed the episode, but it was one that sort of felt like it would play better in a binge watch than a standalone. The nice thing with the shorter runtimes is this will be a very easy show to rewatch. That said, I don’t mind Tatooine stuff when it focuses on it being a wretched hive of scum and villainry, which this did.

I didn’t care much for this one. Very uneven.
Not surprising to see it was written and directed by Filoni because all the Sedaris scenes were terrible and felt like they were from a bad episode of the cartoons.
Bobby Cannavale’s kid is not a good actor.
I hope these last 3 episodes advance the story.

Yeah, not my favorite of the five, but it was still pretty good.
I really hope that that is not the last we see of Ming Na's character... but I think it might be.

Agreed on all counts regarding Filoni.
This episode is exactly why he shouldn't be anywhere near a feature film or leadership at Lucasfilm. He isn't a filmmaker, and it shows here. Let him do some tv episodes but that should be it until he can show significant artistic improvement. (preferably something non SW) Favreau has to share some of the blame for approving/giving the go ahead on this Episode also.
A step back, but let's hope the final three match the first three.

Don't agree. But yea they did go overboard with it. However it does all make sense. He's keeping low , so outer rim might as well be tat he goes to, it's nice to see it modern like. But there shouldn't have been so many other call backs. I just felt it was well done well and least made sense.

I thought it was just fine. Not great, but good (same as last week’s).
i didn’t mind the nods to the films.
We were very happy to see Ming-Na Wen show up.

Another great episode in my book. Not sure I really understand the complaints about too many references. Yes, the episode takes place on Tatooine so we see some of the common things associated with it: Tusken Raiders, Banthas, Dewbacks, and some familiar droids (though in this universe those droids could be anywhere). It didn’t seem like overkill to me. There’s a difference between references for the sake of having them and things that exist in the established universe.
Storyline was good overall I thought. Could kinda tell that the other bounty hunter was going to turn on Mando. Seems like the end and whoever that was checking on the target may be part of the next episode(s). Maybe that will lead to the introduction of Esposito’s character.

I assumed that was Mando going back for her body to cash in on the bounty?
Nice to see Richard Simmons getting some work

I think if that was Mando we’d have just seen him in the shot. Instead we didn’t get a clear look and it cut to credits fast. Guessing it was a setup for a new character.

Um they intentionally obscured who it was. Why would they do that if it was Mando? Also if he wanted her body he would have put it on the dewback when he found her.
