Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Good episode, but how many “farmers rise up and face adversity” plots have there been in the Star Wars Expanded Universe?
I’ve seen it countless times in animated TV episodes and in books. |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Baby Yoda drinking the broth while Dune and Mando were fighting had me rolling.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
One question I have is regarding the baby Yoda, are he and The Mandalorian just doomed to be hunted forever and will always need to keep moving? The other bounty hunters are tracking the baby, but I wonder if there's a way for the tracker to be removed.
Another really good episode. Not a terribly original plot, but it was still entertaining. I wouldn't have minded if The Mandalorian stuck around that planet with the farmers for another episode or two, but I get that isn't really the way he lives. The shock trooper character was a good companion for this episode. Hopefully she'll turn up again. |

As episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess go, this was a pretty good one.
I would have guessed that ripping off Seven Samurai was something they'd spend a 4 episode arc on, not this feeble little thing. |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
reminded me of that old Battlestar Galactica episode....

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
I really hope they didn’t fuck themselves over with baby yoda. Clearly he’s breakout star of the show and I wonder if once the mandolorian finds him a home, people will lose interest.
Don’t get me wrong I love the whole Lone Wolf and Cub/Shogun Assassin thing. |

We don't deserve baby Yoda.
Another solid episode. Not original in any way, but highly entertaining |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
This episode to me had elements of Disney sneaking in stuff for the kids. It was good in parts but other parts were sort of saccharine sweet. I liked the previous episodes more.
I think I need to watch some of the animated shows because clearly I am missing stuff. I tried watching the Clone Wars series but could only get a few episodes in before I gave up. |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
I didn’t mind the stuff that was aimed towards kids with the group of kids playing with the baby Yoda. It wasn’t forced cuteness and played off pretty naturally.

Eh, it was alright.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Probaby my favorite episode so far. Bryce Dallas Howard did a great job directing. Although with a Seven Samurai storyline, even 41 minutes felt short. It would be nice if they took their time a little more with these stories. This episode could have easily been two 45 minute parts.
it didn’t feel like filler to me at all (although when it was all said and done, it slides feel a bit filler-y since they just end up moving on at the end anyway). To me, the earlier Jawa episode felt like 100% filler. |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
I watched all 4 eps over the past day and while I like the show, I can't help but be annoyed at this rule to never remove your helmet. I think it would bring alot of humanity to the character if he did every once awhile.
Also, Baby Yoda (yes, I know that's not his official name) is fucking adorable |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
I'm sure we'll see him eventually remove his helmet- probably the last episode.

Of the series or the season? I'm thinking series as Disney+ would be insane to not renew this for at least two more seasons. I too thought that this episode was solid but drifted a bit into filler territory as well. Still, cool to see more of the world of Star Wars. I'm guessing the AT-ST was something the bandits stole or salvaged? Also, was it being piloted or could it be inferred that maybe it had some AI going on? |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Couldn’t ask for a more unoriginal episode. Baby Yoda broth scene was fucking great though.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Baby Yoda makes me nervous.
I fear that Disney is going to want to shoehorn a bunch of "cute baby" characters into future projects. Baby Chewie. Baby Ewok. Tadpole Ackbar. (Even if they aren't technically baby versions of the named characters.) So far Mandalorian is kind of cool because it has a "Lone Wolf and Cub" vibe going on, but it's something that could be driven into the ground in either this series or future projects. |

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
So we learned in this episode that "The Mandalorian" isn't really a Mandalorian.
Which makes me wonder...are all people from Mandalore "Mandalorians" or is this a cult that was founded on Mandalore, but recruits across the galaxy? I'm going to need one of you experts out there on this one...if this is known. :) |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
Yeah after seeing the flashbacks I figured he wasn’t a Mandalorian. And Boba Fett isn’t either, since he’s a clone.
So who are the real Mandalorians? |
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
He wasn't born a Mandalorian but he is still a Mandalorian. Just like you can be an American without being born in America. Hmmmm actually he still could have been born Mandalorian because not all Mandalorians wear armor as we seen in Clone Wars. His parents might not have been part of the armor wearing group.
|
Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 4 (S1E4)- 11/29/19
I'm confused. Is a Madalorian someone from the planet or is it the name of the secret group he's part of? And if that group is separate from bounty hunters, how did Boba Fet end up wearing their armor type?
