I watch Shameless for the first time.
With so many tv shows on Netflix I decided to watch last night the first episode on season one. My first expression was mixed. Emmy Rossum was hot as the older child Fiona, very was a bit surprised to see her tits in one sex scene with Steve, I heard she done some more nude scene on the show. Frank was pathetic as the drunken father, am I going see him dead drunk every episode? Pretty much a mixed of drama and comedy liked Lip found out his brother Ian was gay, In one funny scene when he tried to get him straight by having him get a blowjob from Karen, he asked her did he raise the tentpole she responded "have you played a pool with a rope"
. Since this show run for nine seasons should I continue watching the show? Don't like binge watching all the episode since they almost run a hour. Your thought?

Good show, but I lost track and stopped watching around the 5th season mark. Never finished it.

I watched the entire UK series, and maybe it's because I had already seen the UK version, but I couldn't get into the US version.

The show jumps the shark after about 5 seasons. I stated in for about 7 or 8 but have zero interest in the storylines anymore. Its as bad as TWD toward the end with recyled garbage each week. last few seasons are a cash grab.

Emmy Rossum has several good nude scenes in the first season. I never watched past that, though.

Hey! i stopped watching after season 5 too. We should start a club.
I didn't think the show really had much left to say. I still record it and skim it sometimes though.

As others have pointed out, this Showtime production was a remake of the UK show by the same name. Besides the different setting in US as well as the cast, the first 40-60% of season one is almost line by line identical to the UK show. Then after that it slowly deviates away from the original's plot and made their own creative choices.
Macy was the only major named actor when the show started. Frank for sure is not the hero of this story, he is a piece of garbage, who does some truly despicable things. The show is much more about how the siblings under the same roof struggle to overcome the major handicap dealt to them at birth and make ends meet in the south side of Chicago. Frank will be in and out of their lives doing his own side shticks, half the time for comedy relief, and others to the true detriment of his own children.

I binged all 9 seasons earlier this year. Loved every minute of it.
I don't feel like the show has gone downhill at all.
Even the newest season that just started seems like it's off to a good start, even though Emmy Rossum has left the show.

I was trying to remember the actor who played Steve from, then I remember he play the husband of Katee Sackhoff's character from the awful Netflix series Another Life. I plan to watch the second season to see how bad it be.

He also played as Goku in that awful Dragon Ball Evolution film.

I had never seen it before, but I'm giving it a little try during the holidays. Few episodes in, I like it. I don't love it. I like it. They have the rest of the first season to draw me in. First impressions are that I certainly like seeing Emmy's......Rossums, and I'm surprised I like Emma Kenney in this. I'm only familiar with her on The Conners. Of course, she grows up on this show, and I'll see if her character here (don't spoil it, please) becomes as obnoxious as her Harris Conner.

Timely thread for me as I started watching S1 recently. It is kind of low brow humor which definitely has its place, but I just think sometimes they go too far in straining credulity (Carl anyone?). However, it is like a slow motion train wreck that is hard to turn away from.
