Do Goofy/Weird/Eccentric Characters Not age as well ?

Been a few shows i've rewatched recently where i've noticed the goofy/Eccentric/weird characters who i quite enjoyed when i first watched the show are now just stupid and annoying

Friends - could not stand Phoebe when i rewatched the whole 10 series this year and Joey was a close second in annoyance. I actually appreciated Ross a lot more. Phoebe did have a crap backstory and storylines

The League - Taco is just annoying the hell outta me, quite liked him when i first watched the show. Ditto Rafi. Appreciating the subtleties on Peter and Kevin characters.

Alias - Marshall was one of my fav characters when i first watched the show back in the day, now he's also annoying and too try hard

How i met your mother - Barney still has his moments on rewatching but has definitely lost a lot of lustre

I'm sure there are tons more examples

and let's not even talk about Steve Urkel ................................................
