I hope to god GoT doesn’t win a damn thing. Should be based on this season that was in contention and not sympathy of end and based on previous 7.

Yes. And yes they won. Time to live with it and the show. Well deserved win.

The Emmy voters said this to the GOT “backlash”:

I forgot it was on, until the last 15 minutes, or so.

Awesome wins for Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Fleabag, Peter Dinklage, and a couple for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Surprised there hasn't been any talk about Zendaya's dress yet...

I had to go in to work. Just watched it now. Expected GoT to win the big prize, not at all surprised or disappointed that it did. The backlash was totally out of proportion and overblown.
Looks like I need to start watching Fleabag and Ozark. Never seen either.
Hope that Odenkirk wins one of these days. He totally deserves it. Didn’t see him on the broadcast. Was he there?

Fleabag is perhaps the best show in the past decade at least. Definitely watch that first. Just 2 seasons and 6 episodes at 30 minutes each. Well worth the time.
And I agree Odenkirk must have his due soon.

Sophie Turner getting nominated for an Emmy totally invalidates the whole show, history of the show and the institution

It should have been...

No, I'll keep my comments respectful. She looked very good in that dress, and I'll leave it at that.

These awards have been nothing but popularity contests for years now. Doesn't surprise me one bit even though I agree that it's laughable.

Uh-huh. These are super-popular, mega-famous actors, right?

She's gorgeous, but too thin.

I didn't watch the show and didn't watch many of the nominated shows. Fleabag deserved at least 3 wins. The second season is amazing. How was the Hot Priest not nominated? The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel deserved its wins, although the first season was better. Jodie Comer was very good in Killing Eve, even though I wasn't a big fan of the show. Game of Thrones had a Return of the King moment, rewarded for better earlier episodes.

Was the sexy priest the second-season addition Phoebe mentioned in her third acceptance speech? These nominees and wins were for Season 1. Eligibility Period was 6/1/18-5/30/19. Fleabag might have won anyway, but really benefited from the Season 2 buzz during the voting period.

Ah, one of the many wonderful things about women; what's "too (whatever)" for one man is just perfect for someone else.

Yes, that's who she mentioned. And no, these nominations were for Season 2 as they aired in the UK during March-April 2019 and Amazon May 17. Season 1 was 3 years ago.

Oh, no kidding! That's what I get for not watching the show  I saw her winning for writing "Episode 1" and thought that had to be the pilot.

And regarding Game of Thrones,

Am I missing something? The green dress I saw had a liner so it didn't really show anything.

Exactly. It was skin-toned under green chiffon. Nothing more.

That was so funny. And the shock on Bateman's face was priceless.
