I know GoT got a lot of heat this season but it's good to see it go out with a little bit of Emmy love. The Best Actress - Comedy line-up is fantastic

But let's be honest -- JLD won that award SIX TIMES for playing Selena Meyers before announcing she was battling breast cancer. There is zero way she doesn't win it again in her final year.

I'm surprised Linda Cardellini didn't get a nom, she crushed her role. Cool that Natasha Lyonne got a nom, I thought she was fantastic in Russian Doll.
I also didn't realize Russian Doll has 12 nominations.

If Springsteen wins, he will win the kinda EGOT.* Like Barbra Streisand, he won his Tony in an honorary, out-of-competition award.

It was truly the murderer's row of categories.

I don't know if Cardellini was considered a Lead Actress or a Supporting one. She was great, but I can't think of any of the six Lead Actress nominees that I would say were less deserving than she was. And once again Alison Brie gets "snubbed" for GLOW.
It was truly the murderer's row of categories.

BTW : Props to Patricia Arquette's publicist for getting her work in The Act put in the Supporting Actress category so that she wouldn't be competing against herself. No way on earth that was a supporting performance.

I know that with Oscar you can't be a double nom in 1 category, which is why Jamie Foxx submitted as Supporting for Collateral. the year Ray came

Re: 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards Discussion (9/22/2019)
Can't find out if an actor can compete against himself as a dual nominee. Not finding that info on Google. But did discover that the actor themselves can decide if they are a Lead or Supporting performer here (unlike the Oscars). There aren't any definitive rules for that -- though there are for Guest Stars.
Speaking of Supporting performers - I'm as big a Game of Thrones fan as anyone, but there is no way that FOUR actresses (not counting Emilia Clarke) should be competing against each other for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama while Better Call Saul's Rhea Seahorn has never been nominated for an Emmy (or even for a Golden Globe Award)! Nobody gave a better performance on TV in the past year, IMHO.

Some of those GOT nods are laughable. Then again, I hope Lena Heady wins so she can go up on stage and say "Stand around and drink wine...that's all I needed to do to finally win one of these?!"

Yeah, there’s definitely a LotR:Return of the King effect going on with all the Game of Thrones nods.
I’m pulling for Chernobyl. It was an amazing series.
The Deadwood movie has my vote as well.
Everything else, meh. It’s going to be a GoT orgy anyway.

The 2019 Emmy Awards --> FOX --> 8pm est, Sun 9/22/19
They say GoT will win a lot (being last season and all), but i think it would be a travesty.
anyway, show tonight, no host on FOX. i don't know. but, GoT doesn't deserve any for this imo terrible season and do think it would be in ill form to honor most popular rather best.
let's discuss...

Tuned in just in time to see the embarrassing Maya Rudolph/Ike Barinholtz lasik bit and was tuned out before Bill Hader was on stage. I can’t stomach any more terrible “comedy”.
Good for Hader though.

GoT and Fleabag need to win pretty much everything. I never watch it for the sheer stupidity the announcers get into. I just pull up the IMDb app and look at the results while I watch football.
