Yes, and Eva Green's character (the main character, btw) was essentially MIA during those final 2 episodes. Just a complete f*ck up, IMO.

This... doesn't seem to fit the premise?

Sometimes or sometimes not. I just ignore the aired finale for Star Trek: Enterprise. Terrible way to send off the show.

ST:E is the perfect example for me. My anger over a series that couldn't stick the landing tends to dissipate quickly.

I'm really not as big on the final season of Enterprise as most people.

Terrible finale aside, there's really a lot of dumb fanboyish/fanficcy stuff in it that I don't like.

One, the mirror universe episodes were kind of neat, but they ended up over-explaining it with the presence of The Defiant. That managed to retcon and recontextualize two classic episodes that didn't need to be tinkered with. Having the Defiant phase into the Mirror Universe lessens both "Mirror, Mirror" and "The Tholian Web," and using Defiant to explain why the Mirror Universe's Enterprise looked the same as the Prime Universe Enterprise is something that didn't need to be explained.

Two, explaining why the Klingons in TOS looked different was just a bunch of fan-fic bullshit that never should have made its way into the script. I'm kind of okay with a Soong being involved with the Augments, but all of this stuff dropped into one story was just eye-rolling.

And I also wasn't a fan of bringing the Organians into it, either, but that wasn't terribly egregious.
