FXX has set the premiere date for the 10th season of the Emmy(R) Award-winning animated comedy series Archer, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President, Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. Archer: 1999 will debut Wednesday, May 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FXX. Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that follows Sterling Archer, Lana Kane, and their crew of acid-tongued misfits onboard the M/V Seamus salvage ship. An important question arises as they explore deep space and try to outsmart giant aliens, intergalactic pirates, and vicious bounty hunters: how do they survive each other? Welcome to the space-tastic world of Archer: 1999.

I'm hoping this at least has some really funny moments. It's basically fan fiction at this point. Dreamland was an interesting idea but way too serious. Tales of the Gold Monkey Archer was completely pointless. I've still never seen the whole thing. I'm a big sci-fi guy so I hope there's at least some good obscure references and what not in this. At least the name has some slight promise to it.

I actually thought Danger Island was the best of the post-ISIS seasons, so I'm fully on board with this one

Agreed. I did not like Dreamland, but I thought Danger Island had some fun moments. I will check this out.

Jokeless comedies make me sad, quit during the noir season, I guess they haven't brought back jokes

I only caught a few of the early episodes and they were funny but I didn't stick with it. Sounds like it did a bunch of weird stuff after a while?

Caught the season premier, didn't laugh once.
I REALLY enjoyed the first 5 or 6 seasons, but it's been lame for the last few seasons.

Even though it didn't feature the incredible laughs of earlier seasons, I like what it's setting up. Clearly they're going to be referencing multiple sci-fi movies (not just Space:1999, which I've never watched). But more importantly, everyone is together again, something that hasn't happened in years.

Did everyone give up? I thought this week's episode was one of the better ones in recent memory.

That's surprising - just assumed it would end here on the 10th.
At least they're getting back to "normal", which is what I would mostly want to see.
Though this season has been the best of the 3 coma seasons.

I've been enjoying the hell out of this season, so I'm happy about the renewal.

Picks up after he was shot in Los Angeles, the PI agency still exists and the producers have thrown out the ISIS name.

Finally binged to catch up ... while not back to its original form, this season has been MUCH improved over the last few and the humor is back on track. I believe they even shot Brett.

Agreed! This was my favorite of the "coma fantasy" seasons, and I liked Danger Island a lot. As I said at the beginning, it put everyone back into pretty much their "classic" roles, and they all had to work together again. At its core, Archer is just a workplace comedy, and this was the closest to old ISIS seasons. Also liked the lack of serialization, and just had random adventures from week-to-week. Wouldn't even object to a second space season, but obviously that will not happen.

Well, I could have done with another Space/1999 season, but it looks like the real world is coming back!
