This doesn’t air on on HBO proper. Is it on the app?

If you also DVR it, it's added onto that. I watch it on Hulu and it's on there.

Just finished watching. I...am...spent. There was so much going on, and I was so busy preparing myself for people to start getting bumped off that I totally didn't see Arya Snuka coming in off the top rope to take out the Ice Sheik. I freaking lost it, and in the process scared my cat out of the living room for about 20 minutes.

Man this episode was shot like the first two hours of Red Dead Redemption 2. It was hard to see, but it would probably be hard to see if you're fighting zombies in a blizzard. I thought it was really well done, but I really wanted to see Jon face off with the Night King and kill him, but the Night King wussed out and sent an army of dead after Jon. I would have like to see a little more build up to Arya killing the Night King, but I'm assuming she flew out of the roof of the last area she was in to take him out. Has anyone posted a confirmed kill list of characters? Everything was happening and I'm 100% sure who all died.

For what purpose? Did he actually give anyone any information? Him watching or not has literally zero effect on anything that happened. And warging into Arya? What, other than wishful thinking, would make anyone think that?

I think the hype got me a little on this one. All the talk about taking months to film, it being the largest battle ever filmed, etc. I think I was overestimating what was going to happen but I was left somewhat disappointed with this episode.

Arya is a badass at the beginning slaying dozens of walkers and then all of sudden she spends the rest of the episode as a damsel in distress...until her Air Jordan attack on the the Night King. I kept expecting her to change faces with the dead but she just kept running up and down castle corridors.

Not only were the main characters all in a position where they were going to be dead in seconds, but ALL the “living” characters were about to bite it that literally the only way out was for the Night King to eat it and all walkers were to drop dead so it wasn’t surprising to see how the episode ended. Although, I was expecting Bran to pull some badassery of some sort out. The dude is truly useless at this point.

And we’re just three episodes from the end of the series. She came, she saw, she died, and I still have no fucking clue what Melisandre was all about on this show.

What was Jon Snows plan at the end? To just scream the dragon to death? He didn't even have his sward in his hand.

The women in this episode were way more badass than the women in Endgame.

Bran is useless? He drew the Night King in so that Arya could kill him. Bran was obviously important to the Night King, or he wouldn't have been there, for him.

I'm bummed out for Lyanna, and particularly Jorah. That he died protecting his true love was nice, however.

I was mildly disappointed with Edd's death, as I thought he would've been a bit more alert after/while yelling at Sam.

I didn't mind the darkness. It seemed appropriate to the battle. Although, I didn't like some of the compression artifacting, but that's probably my cable company's fault.

So, what are the major plot points to resolve, now? The Iron Throne, obviously, so Jon and Dany, Cersei and the Lannister army. Douchebag uncle and his lot. The Mountain vs The Hound. What else?

I hate when they film everything dark like this. It reminded me of TWD episode where Carl died.

I'm sure expense played a big role in why they chose to film it like this. And, to be fair, they were probably using the darkness to build a sense of uncertainty and dread. Still felt like a bit of a cop out to me. It would have been cool to have actually seen the battle.

Interesting little scene with Sansa and Tyrion.

Danny seems to have lost the most... the Dothraki, Jorah, who knows how many Unsullied; not to mention the fact that she's lost her claim to the throne and her lover turned out be her nephew...

Great episode, I agreed it was dark and little hard to see but still very good episode.

Spoiler:
What happen to Jon's dragon? I saw it landed awkwardly and Jon falling off to the ground but haven't seen it after that

No, I mean just recording it via Hulu Cloud DVR. I started watching it about 30 minutes late.

So Arya killed the Night King with that dagger that Littlefinger used to frame Tyrion (and then got his own throat slit with)? Is that Valarian Steel, and when and how did she get it? I don't remember that part.

mwbmis 04-28-19 11:46 PM

Re: Game of Thrones (S8E03) -- 82 minute episode -- “The Long Night” -- 4/28/19

Littlefinger gave it to Bran. Bran gave it to Arya.

I wonder if they decided to solve their Ghost problem by just killing him offscreen.

I don't know if it was my expectations, but I was kind of underwhelmed by this one. Certainly, I expected more secondary characters to die. The fact that they were largely the only ones we saw still fighting at the end felt kind of silly to me.
