Good episode, but not AT ALL happy about Alara leaving the show.

Excellent episode, even though I was complaining about family-oriented episodes last week.

Sad to see Alara go. Enjoyed seeing the Star Trek alums.

I like how they addressed how people from different planets react to earth-normal gravity.

The Expanse also kind of addressed this when it comes to gravity differences between Earth, Mars, and The Belt.

Great to see the Star Trek Alums.

at seeing the new Security Officer eat his lunch on the bridge.

I’ll miss Alara.

I didn’t get the pickle joke... But I’ve vaguely remember a situation awhile ago where she had open up a jar for him (am I remembering that right?).

It's a running thing mentioned in a few episodes.

It the first episode of season 1, the Captain asks Alara to "open this jar of pickles for me", which was a door. She knocks down the door and a lot more (can't remember exactly), and then he replies with something to the effect of "I loosened it for you". And then he asks her to open a jar of pickles for him in a few other episodes referring to the same type of thing.

Edit:

Patrick Warburton as the guy with two esophaguses was great.

Good episode.
If they had someone from ST:TNG they could had completed Star Trek bingo.

Great episode. I'm going to miss Alara. They really should have faded out the episode with Captain Mercer trying in vain to open the jar.

What is this show? Needs more comedy, less drama.

So is the whole cast of Trek going to guest?

Marina Sirtis is supposedly in an episode this season.

In an episode directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Anyone know why the actress and/or character is leaving?

I largely agree about the mix in tone.

You get the feeling that Seth wanted to pull off a straight Star Trek clone, and the network only agreed to The Orville if he made it a comedy.

I actually heard/read someplace but can now not find that Sage was having bad allergic reactions to the makeup/prosthetics... not sure if true or had anything to do with her split.

Suffice to say this episode confirms she wasn't cast on the show because of her acting chops.

This was the first episode my wife actually watched with me. She doesn’t tolerate middle school humor at all, so it was kind of nice having a primarily straight forward story.

Apparently she was able to act like she enjoyed having Seth on top of her well enough.

This had a decidedly TNG "off-planet" feel to it. I didn't mind this episode. But I'd like to see some real sci-fi sometime soon.

Why do you guys want a TNG clone? We already had TNG. I want a straight satire, not whatever this shit is.

Re: The Orville (S2E03) -- "Home" -- 1/10/19

That was A LOT of "goodbye" sappiness for a character who was only on for one season and the 1st season at that.

Good ep though. I appreciated seeing the 2 ST Doctors going at it as enemies; though I guess now we will never see those two ST doctors again. I also thought the reason created for her leaving was clever. It's like Superman having to leave Earth to go back to Krypton.
