Maybe I'll just watch it backwards now.

Finished season 2 over the weekend. Good stuff, but I had to keep reminding myself that this took place before Pablo Escobar's demise. Would have been cool to see him on occasion instead of always Pacho. Anyway, Luna was excellent again.
I didn't realize until the end that one of the Sinaloa guys is the infamous El Chapo Guzman, who basically ends up as the new Felix Gallardo. I assume the series will continue with him as the primary antagonist.

Another good season. It got a little hokey with Walt and Pablo but it wasn't a deal breaker. I like all seasons between Mexico and the original the same. This is one of the few shows still going that can keep my attention in full.

I think we all new chapo was el chapo from the end os s1. Especially then with the tunnels.

fantastic season. Love Amado but am sure he isn’t kind for s3. Felix called where it’s all going.

Season 3 is live now!

This is good but man, that La Voz reporter Andrea is terrible. And on top of that they gave her narration??? Must be the producer's daughter or something. On the flip side, I love that cop character Victor. Still have a couple episodes to go.

I binged it last week and it was great. Some of the subplots are nuts and had no idea that they were connected.
Spoiler:
Chapo was involved in the shooting that killed the Cardinal at the airport back in '93.

I finished S3 yesterday. I watched an episode per day - that's my version of binging.
Like all the other seasons, this was really good. I love how the mix the factual stuff with the fictional. It always has a good balance.

I'm assuming there'll be a S4 with Chapo now at the reigns? Thought it was going to happen in S3, but there was more to tell in between Gullardo and Chapo.

Amado has to be the most likeable of all these guys. He's cool and not the animal the other guys are.

The whole Narcos series deserves much more acclaim and popularity than it currently gets.

Not sure where they're heading off to next. This was the series finale I thought.

When Netflix released S3, they stated that was it, there will not be an S4. The showrunner Eric Newman said in 2020 that he'd open to more, but he has since departed from the show. So more Narcos seems unlikely. in

Enjoyed it. Sad to see a couple of characters not make it.

Finished up S3. Amado was an interesting antagonist. It's still surprising they are going to end the series without a full season dedicated to Chapo

So, we're to assume Amado made it out alive?

For some reason s3 didnt generate the same excitement as s1 and s2. I still enjoyed the hell out of it and wouldn't mind a s4.

Not if they followed the real events - as Amado really did die during the operation while undergoing plastic surgery.

They did make it seem that way with the final scene and the wine on the piano. I really enjoyed this season and wished they would do another with Chapo, but I heard this was the last of it. I did see there is 3 season series called Chapo on Netflix dedicated to his story so I might check it out.

Yeah, I don't know too much on Chapo. I will probably look up that series as well.

I have that El Chapo show in the queue. The one show I watched right after this season was one called "Somos." It's on Netflix in 4K DV / Atmos. It was great and it's based on the true story of a cartel basically destroying a town over in NE Texas about ten years ago. It's a six-episode limited series co-adapted by James Schamus. I highly recommend it.

Re: Narcos: Mexico (Netflix)

Since there's no dedicated thread for it, I started watching Season 1 of El Chapo and it is pretty awesome. Season 1 has 9 episodes, S2 has 12 episodes, and S3 has 13 episodes. I'm halfway through season 1 and they do cover some of the same ground as the Narcos season, but there's much more insight and also S1 was released way before the newest season of Narcos, so I wouldn't be surprised if Narcos borrowed from the El Chapo season.
