The Little Drummer Girl (AMC) -- S: Shannon, Skarsgard, Pugh -- Premieres 11/19/18
Based on John le Carré’s best-selling literary masterpiece of the same name and directed by visionary filmmaker Park Chan-wook (Oldboy, The Handmaiden, Stoker), The Little Drummer Girl weaves a suspenseful and explosive story of espionage and high-stakes international intrigue.
Set in the late 1970s, the pulsating thriller follows Charlie (BAFTA-nominated Florence Pugh), a fiery actress and idealist whose resolve is tested after she meets the mysterious Becker (Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Alexander Skarsgård) while on holiday in Greece. It quickly becomes apparent that his intentions are not what they seem, and her encounter with him entangles her in a complex plot devised by the spy mastermind Kurtz (twice Academy Award-nominated Michael Shannon). Charlie takes on the role of a lifetime as a double agent while remaining uncertain of her own loyalties.

This premieres on November 19th. Probably not on most of your radars, but the trailer was just released 2 days ago and I wanted to post this a little early.
Has some good actors and a good director behind it. It's also from the producers of The Night Manager.
It's also based on the same novel that was the source material for the 1984 Diane Keaton movie.
It's a 3 night event.

Having just discovered Florence Pugh in Netflixs’ Malevolent I will probably need to record this and give it a shot.

There will be a re-airing, right? I gotta clear some space off my DVR first.

Yeah, pretty sure it'll air a few times over the next few weeks. Looks like it's 6 episodes total aired over 3 consecutive nights (6 hours total).

Bought this during the $2.99 misprice. Gonna binge them now. Love me some Park Chan-wook! I noticed that in the Amazon PRIME menu each episode says "(UNCUT)* so I assume they were edited for broadcast.

This was the Band of Brothers of spy miniseries for me, just balls to the wall the whole way

I liked it enough, and Florence Pugh is certainly a delight to watch. I'm a huge fan of Park Chan-Wook, which was the main reason I watched it, and his style was clearly evident. I do think six hours is a long slough though, and it kinda ended on more of a whimper. Seems like it went a long way to essentially kill one guy, but I guess that's what real espionage is like (unlike say, Bond movies).
I'm not sure if I'm just not a fan of LeCarre or at least films based on his work, because I thought this was a bit on the dull side, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Constant Gardener were major yawns for me as well.

For those wanting action, just stop, and watch something else. Le Carre books and adaptations are slow burn, this is no different.

^ Yeah, I'm getting the impression that LeCarre is not for me.
