Milena Govich, who was one of the stars of the original Law and Order in the later seasons, was hired and director and EP for season 2.
Apparently she's segued to directing.
Fell behind on FBI. I'm currently on episode 13. Binge watching it on CBS Al-Access.

If you don't remember Milena Govich, she played detective Cassady 12 years ago. That's her and Alana De La Garza.
Alana is in the running for the FBI spinoff series.

Just spent the last 4 days binging the shit out of this to get caught up with the season finale. Finally caught up.
This is actually a damn good FBI procedural. Maggie and OA are solid characters and I love Sela Ward and Sisto as their bosses. It's really focused on the cases and doesn't get bogged down by filler. They actually did a few really good episodes that added depth to Sisto's character and Zaki (OA) characters.
I'm actually liking this better than the NBC Chicago dramas. Also, looking forward to the Most Wanted spinoff in the Fall. I liked the backdoor Pilot that aired as an episode of this season.
Looks like the finale will probably go into the mystery of the death of Maggie's husband more.

The season finale aired on Tuesday.
Good, but low key episode. No cliffhanger. They wrapped up the underlying arc about the death of Maggie's husband.
Disappointed that Sela Ward was written out. Apparently she only signed a 1 year contract. She confirmed on social media that she was indeed leaving. I thought she was a really good leader of the team. I guess next season Sisto's role will be bigger.
Overall, a solid season and a good new procedural.

I don't know if you watch the show, but she was a last minute cast replacement for Connie Nielsen, who was in the Pilot.

Sorry to hear that Ward won't be on next season. I liked her character. She had good chemistry with the rest of the cast.
The season finale was good. I had expected them to string out the mystery of Jason's death longer, but I'm glad it wasn't a cliffhanger ending.
This was my favorite new network show this year.

Too bad she won't be returning. I hope they just let Sisto's character the lead of the office. I'm glad they wrapped up the "who killed my husband" story line. That won't have to bleed into other seasons.

The Sela ward character was good but not an essential part of the show. She looks good for 63 !
I hope the new boss if it isn't Sisto's character isn't an antagonist one

FBI (CBS) -- Season 2 Thread -- From EP Dick Wolf
The season premiere last week was good. But, I was surprised that restaurant bombing only killed 1 person. Seemed like that was a significant explosion.
With terrorism, the kids involved are often misguided and that's what I think they tried to show in that episode and what OA's feelings on the topic were.
and Alana seems like a decent replacement for Sela Ward. She had a brief appearance last season in that backdoor pilot for Most Wanted. She was supposed to be on the spinoff, but is now permanently on this show.
Haven't seen last night's new episode yet. But this along with SWAT are now my 2 favorite CBS action shows.

Enjoyed both episodes so far. I liked the confrontation between the new boss and the social media exec in Ep 2.

Re: FBI (CBS) -- Season 2 Thread -- From EP Dick Wolf
This week's episode was pretty 'meh'. The characters and their motivations weren't that interesting and the political aspect of the story felt like it was trying too hard to be topical (female Presidential candidate who is a former DA known for being tough on criminals--hmmm... who does that sound like?) without any real substance behind it.
It was good to have a little more screen time for Alana de la Garza, though.

I really enjoyed this week's episode.
I gotta admit, when that guy rear-ended Maggie I immediately thought he would turn out to be a spy or something. Looks like he was just a red herring. But if he shows up again in a future episode, I'm still going to side-eye him.
Also, it was kind of silly for the male sleeper agent to get that fancy sniper rifle just to shoot at the kid from like 30 yards away. Hell, he probably could have killed him with a slingshot from that range.

I was gonna bump this as well, this weeks ep was terrific, I think the show has been so-so this year, but this ep it seemed to find its footing, felt like a mini movie and a lot going on. really enjoyed it!

Yeah, they could have done better with the writing. If he was a good shot, a handgun would have been fine from that range.
