Ebonée Noel and Jeremy Sisto Also Star
"Pilot" - After a bomb explosion devastates a residential apartment building, special agents Maggie Bell and Omar Adom "OA" Zidan of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigate a possible war between rival gangs - that is, until their prime suspects are discovered brutally murdered, on FBI, Tuesday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
From Emmy Award winner Dick Wolf and the team behind the "Law & Order" franchise, FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom "OA" Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI. Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge Dana Mosier (Sela Ward)
, who operates under intense pressure 24/7/365 and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Kristen Chazal is the team's most valued resource, a brilliant analyst recruited straight out of university who can piece together the big picture faster than anyone. Co-creator and Executive Producer is Dick Wolf, who created Law and Order.
Connie Nielsen is in the Pilot, but left the show. She is replaced by Sela Ward. But they are playing different characters.

I will probably check this out. Sort of a sucker for shows like this.

Pretty standard and formulaic. Can't say I was wowed by it. I don't think the characters made a big impression yet. But the opening sequence with the bomb and building collapse was pretty cool. Technically it was well made like Dick Wolf's many other shows. The male lead next to Missy was pretty bland.
Knowing the viewing habits of this forum, I think most here would find this kind of show boring.
Connie Nielsen didn't really leave a big impression on me after the 1st episode. Guess she was supposed to be the boss. So no big loss there.
Also, I read the co-creator of the show left after the Pilot and they hired the former showrunner of Taken and Person of Interest. So maybe we'll see some changes moving forward.

Ok I don’t understand all the jargon.
You said creator left but actually the show runner left
Two different people apparently?

Dick Wolf co-created the show with a guy named Craig Turk. Turk was the original showrunner and wrote the Pilot.
Turk quit after the Pilot due to creative differences with Wolf and the network.
Greg Plageman was hired to replace Turk. Plageman used to be the showrunner for Person of Interest.
Dick Wolf creates shows, but he’s more of a manager than actual creative guy overseeing day to day production.
Clear now? Sorry if that didn’t make sense originally. It’s TV production lingo and I l know most outside of TV don’t get it.
This happens quite frequently when someone from the creative team quits over “Creating differences”

Yeah makes more sense now.
I do get the feeling that when Wolf creates a show it’s not much more then the network asking him
and he goes.
Yeah.....FBI. There’s a show.
Then provides a few character ideas and that’s it.
He stays on to oversee for a bit.

I thought the second episode was much better than the first. That should have been the pilot. The pacing was quicker and there was more suspense.

Agreed. The female lead reminds me a bit too much of Sophia Bush from Chicago PD. I'll be keeping the series recording for sure.

The showrunners for Chicago Fire and PD are now the new showrunners for this series.
Greg Plageman was apparently only brought in as a temporary replacement and will now go back to developing his own shows.

I enjoy Chicago PD but I hope this change doesn't homogenize the two. FBI needs to have its own identity.

I just watched the first episode and liked it enough that I'll keep watching. I've been looking for a good procedural show to watch.

Cool. I just watched eps 2 and 3. An improvement over the pilot, and I like the addition of Sela Ward.

I just got caught up with episodes 2 and 3.
Way better than the Pilot IMO. it actually feels more like a weekly FBI thriller. The terrorist plot in episode 2 and the prostitute killer plot in episode 3 were quite compelling. It doesn't feel like your typical cookie cutter procedural. Maggie and Omar are actually gelling for me as partners.
Yeah and I like Sela Ward as the new boss. Connie Nielsen made no impression on me in the Pilot, so no big loss there.

I've been enjoying this show, has Dick Wolf's stamp all over it. I think the plots have been pretty good and the two leads have been very solid.
Hope it gets renewed.
