Just finish watching this and liked it enough that I am looking forward to season 2.
I like the addition of the game room chat part, very smart to add that in. Man, I would hate to be a spy now a days. lol

Finally got around to watching this, two episodes left.
It's fine, but my takeaway (not necessarily directed at this show) is that that while I like serialized TV, it's gotten a little out of hand, and it feels like EVERY show now is serialized, made to binge. It makes me kinda miss episodic TV where you get a complete story arc in one episode.
Or heck, in this show, they really didn't need this plotline with this one terrorist being a full 8 episodes - 4 would've been fine, and they could've had the other 4 be something completely different. No reason to focus on just one big bad for an entire season. Just feels artificially drawn out.

you have network TV that does episodic TV. i don't need that with streaming shows.

Heck I don't even mean completely episodic, but why does an ENTIRE season need to be just ONE storyline?

I'll probably get blasted for this, but while I know it speaks for the authenticity of the situations, it felt like 60% of the dialogue needed subtitles. There was just so much going on it got tough to catch everything that was happening and read subtitles. It didn't help that some scenes would have dialogue that dropped in and out of English/subtitles. It left me missing the brilliant way they handled the language in THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.
Also I'm from the DC area. Some of the "choices" were laughable. There is no Washington Memorial Hospital. Ryan rides his bike right up to the front door of the CIA and puts it into a bike rack without locking it? Those were NOT Maryland crabs (and they'd be coated with Old Bay seasoning). No one goes on a first date to a crab dinner where you'd be smashing crabs with mallets dressed as they were.
I will give them credit on getting the Metro signage correct in the final episode. There is a Navy Yard-Ballpark Station for Nationals Park and Waterfront is close, next station, which would make that last battle scene believable. So they got some of it right too.

I agree - they way they lay out DC is kind of funny (and I laughed at the crab thing too). Though the Metro shoot out chase looked authentic.
I binged this over the last few days and thought it was really good. Great action sequences. Very good antagonist. I thought Krasinski's take on Jack Ryan was good - a more subdued Jack Ryan.
