Looking forward to the final season. Kind of sucks that they postponed it until the Fall, but at least it's early Fall and the season will be wrapped by early November.

It was pretty obvious when they decided to shoot 2 seasons back to back that TNT was looking to wrap the show.

Re: The Last Ship (TNT) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 9/9/18

TNT's epic drama The Last Ship will complete its final mission when the show returns for its fifth and final season on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Bridget Regan (Agent Carter) and Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck) star in this action-packed series chronicling the aftermath of a global catastrophe that nearly decimated the world's population. This season, the world is finally recovering from the deadly virus that devastated the population, but global political unrest remains. Tom Chandler (Dane) has retired and his former crew has scattered, many having risen in the ranks within the Navy. Sasha Cooper (Regan), Lieutenant Danny Green (Travis Van Winkle), SBS WO-N Wolf Taylor (Bren Foster) and Sergeant Azima Kandie (Jodie Turner Smith) are on a covert mission in Panama. When they are wrongly blamed for an attack on the Panamanian president, the consequences for the United States are dire. The Nathan James must fight to prevent invasion by Latin America - and the next world war. Season five is The Last Ship at its most epic, upping the ante on action and excitement, but at its core, it underscores the costs of prolonged war and the toll it takes on the heroes who fight it. The fourth season of The Last Ship ranked as one of the summer's top five cable dramas among total viewers, reaching a total of 24 million viewers on TNT's linear, VOD and digital platforms.

Great premiere! Felt like I was watching 24 again. Started off with everyone all happy and then the attack begins.

And that dress too...

Great start. The attack sequence was pretty wild. Felt like it was the attack of Pearl Harbor part deux.

And yeah Bridget Regan looked great.

Looks like it’s USA vs South America in the final season.

And wow, crazy how they killed off two main characters in a span of seconds.

Spoiler:

Garnett and Doc Rios

And go figure some people on Facebook and TVLine are mad because they revealed Granderson was in a same sex relationship. Some freaking uptight jerks out there.

Everytime I see Granderson, I think it's Rhianna

Pity they got rid of Jade Chynoweth's character.

Re: The Last Ship (TNT) -- Season 5 Thread -- Premieres 9/9/18

It was a little hard to swallow that all those planes were able to make it up to the base without being noticed. And that the "hack" would be that cripple every element of the defense system. But it all made for a good start. Looks like the foursome heading to Columbia will be fun to watch as well.

Loved the older couple asking Chandler to take a photo with them and flat Chandler. In their defense he has aged quite a bit since that standee was made.

Second episode was excellent. I love all creative ways they use the Nathan James' weapons.

The virus, especially it de-orbitting satellites, was a bit much. Otherwise liked the action.

Episode 4 reaction (Sept 30)

Spoiler:
When the episode started and Alicia was talking to her girlfriend in the kitchen, I thought...this girlfriend is getting a lot of screen time. This bitch is a mole!

And by the end of the episode, my guess was right thanks to all my years of watching “24” Though I’m disappointed I didn’t catch on before this episode.

Action? You mean them staring at screen that represented ships we never saw?

I'm still enjoying the show, but the drop in the effects done for this season has been very noticeable and is taking me out of the "action". The hits (explosions) to the ship(s) have been the worst. I've seen better fan produced effects on youtube.

I think that analyst woman was the only one that didn't see that her girlfriend was acting fishy and likely involved. But it was a clever way for them to show how the virus got in their system.

I know someone who works in a top secret secured facility and he said the way it was explained is laughably bad.

Don't get me wrong I love this freakin' show but when you watch it with certain people that know certain things it sort of takes me out. I really don't care if it's incorrect; just entertain the shit out of me.

Same thing happened when I watched Diehard 2. Watched it with a couple of friends that were air traffic controllers when the movie came out. They laughed their asses off because they said not one thing in the movie was plausible about their jobs.

I'm that way with pretty much everything in this show that deals with the Navy. So in other words, pretty much the whole show.

Episode 6 reaction (Oct 14):

Decent episode in Cuba. The jump wasn’t as cool as Mission Impossible Fallout haha

Good to see Sprague Grayden again (the Mole’s sister). Haven’t seen her on tv since 24 season 7, in her role as Olivia Taylor. However, I did have the pleasure of meeting her at a local horror movie convention last weekend (her first fan convention). Very nice actress and I scored another autograph for my “24” collection.

Anyone still watching this? The Oct 21 episode is one of the best action episodes of the series! And great ending too!

Still watching. Any thoughts on how it will all end? Tavo has to get his just desserts. And Alicia's gf as well.

On how the EMTs were allowed through the gates on the say so of that one dude that checked the girl.

The facility should of had it's own medical staff present in a war time situation; especially if the president is there.

True. Only wish a show titled "The Last Ship" wasn't full of ground assaults and dry land based drama. But it's obvious the budget is gone. They don't even do ship to ship battles anymore. You had a whole episode where they were fighting other ships you never even see. And the battle effects they do include (explosions) look terrible.
