I don't take this as being the beginning of the end of their relationship - exactly the opposite, this is showing how connected and protective she is of Jimmy.
If this was the case she'd give him a hug - not walk away and almost close the door in his face.

So what did Kim get dropped off at the courthouse for? Seemed to mean something in the way that she didn't tell her paralegal what she was going there to do.

Why do we think that Kim leaves Jimmy?

For all we know they were together during breaking bad - the story was around Walt, we never needed to see that Saul had a girlfriend - his character served that purpose.

What would truly be sad, is if he had to go into hiding and leave Kim behind to deal with all the unanswered questions etc. That would tear at him from the inside. That to me is truly tragic.

That is an excellent point. We never saw Saul at home. Kim could've still been in the picture making his "ending" very tragic indeed.

I thought Jimmy took a big chance and a lot of effort for the chance of half a $8k payday...

Yeah, she could've still been around during BB. And if her representing that bank takes off (as their plans for their expansion show), she could just be way too busy, or just constantly on the road, do really see Jimmy during the BB time. I kinda hope they just skip over all the BB timeline.

Well, he didn't know that guy got kicked out of his house and would be sleeping there. Risk aside, it was still not too tough a job for $8K.

Kim seems pretty hormonal lately. Pregnant?

Re: Better Call Saul (S4E03) -- "Something Beautiful" -- 8/20/18

I have to believe that before BCS ends, Kim is out of the picture.

During BB Jimmy/Saul's life was kind of pathetic and a mess at that point having to deal with these low-life's that I just can't see someone as good as Kim and the normalcy she brings being with him - especially as he goes extra shady/corrupt. And I don't think Kim would've sunk to his level.
Plus, he changed his name to Saul Goodman at that time - not exactly something he could keep from Kim... especially with his commercials, etc. airing. Remember when Saul suggested that Walt take his brother-in-law (Hank) on a trip to "Belize". Kim would be far removed from that type of person.

Like BB, the main character has to experience a major loss - and in this case that would have to be Kim (as well as any sense of decency he had).

Anyone else think this show is becoming too Gus-centric? I mean, Jimmy is reduced to stealing a Hummel figurine? Not exactly compelling drama.

I don't see that as being reduced to. I think they're showing Jimmy go through a personal crisis. We're seeing how he becomes Saul, it's not an overnight change and him sort of floundering right now will make what he becomes that much more impactful. Just my opinion.

We are seeing into the chrysalis as Jimmy morphs into a Saul.

Maybe Kim filed something in Chuck's probate, the release Jimmy signed or challenge to Chuck's will?

I didn't think she was happy about the locations. It seemed to upset her and I took it that it was not because of extra work. I think the courthouse has to do with something with the expansions that she can not let everyone know about.

I'm thinking Kim is upset that this case she's helping with has turned from being altruistic to into a means for the company to build an empire. I'm guessing she's going to find a way to shut their progress down.

Loving this season but almost seems like Jimmy is becoming a supporting character in his own show. Definitely into Breaking Bad the prequel territory now. Next season will definitely be Breaking Bad Season 0 and Season 6, I suspect good ol Mr Heisneberg and Mr Pinkman have much more than a cameo level role in it. Just my suspicion.

Or it could be that the work for this client becomes so all-encompassing, that she has to leave town in order to build a practice to represent them effectively.

This is my line of thought, and I hope it is the case.

I can't see her turning against her client.

And one of the locations mentioned was in Nebraska. About four hours away from Omaha, but still.

Seeing every BB character in the Gus storyline is starting to feel a bit cheap and not special

The twins, awesome

Gale, hmmm, was that really necessary

need something meaty for Kim to do

I don't think it was really about the money for Jimmy. The "easy money" angle was just what he used to convince someone to be in on it. For him, it's just the way he's acting out after his brother's death. He's struggling to find his place, especially since he can't be a lawyer right now.

I agree. The way she reacted to the model buildings, more or less tuning out Kevin...something isn't sitting right with her. I think she went to do research.

I also told my wife that Kim wrote that letter that Jimmy read. I think she's upset with herself for doing it but also knows she couldn't let Jimmy read the real one.

Re: Better Call Saul (S4E03) -- "Something Beautiful" -- 8/20/18

I don't believe Chuck wrote the letter Jimmy read.. It was just so out of character.

But it also seems like it's getting close to the point where Kim eventually leaves. Either she leaves for work, leaves because of a fight with Jimmy over something he does, or she's killed, but I don't think she'll be around next season.

Was the letter typed? Otherwise I don’t believe Jimmy wouldn’t be able to differentiate between the handwriting of two of the closest people in his life.
