"Making It," the six-episode series from executive producers, hosts and pop-culture's favorite comedic best friends, Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, will make its premiere on NBC Tuesday, July 31 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series brings together eight of the country's most talented Makers to tackle a variety of handmade projects with the hopes of impressing Poehler and Offerman as well as judges Simon Doonan, Creative Ambassador for Barneys New York, and Dayna Isom Johnson, Etsy trend expert. "At the very most, you will fall in love with our Makers, get introduced to a world you may not know anything about and even get inspired to make something at home! At the very least, you will learn what vellum is," Poehler said. "As a woodworker myself, I'm awfully proud to showcase all these talented Makers and be reunited with my charismatic pal Amy to boot," Offerman said. "The question is: Is America thready for this? (Strap in, our show will be pun heavy)." Every show will revolve around a central theme that draws inspiration from hugely popular nationwide trends in crafting and DIY, which the whole family can enjoy. Each episode of the competition will consist of two projects, cleverly designed by Poehler and Offerman, that test the Makers' ability to think outside of the box in unpredictable ways. Believing there is no better way to express yourself than by making things by hand, the challenges are also designed to bring out skilled insights and takeaway, touching personal stories and lots of laughs. First, the "faster-craft" round will be a timed challenge that will test their ability to not only work quickly but imaginatively as well. Next, the Makers will move to the "master craft collection," a one-of-a-kind themed challenge in which the competitors will need to use their expertise and get inventive in order to assemble a winning craft that fits the theme of that week. In the end, only one will emerge victorious and be named "Master Maker."

I was out as soon as I saw that lady making a unicorn. Just a subject I have zero interest in.

It's a very benign competition, much like "The British Baking Show" and most people will find it either charming or somewhat corny and dull, and you'll know where you stand after a few minutes. It's generally well-made though judging art is subjective and one man's treasure is another man's "Yard Sale".

If you asked me to think of 100 different shows to cast Poehler and Offerman in, I would never choose this. I watched some of this and while it wasn't awful, I find the hosts pretty funny and charming in general --- so I think this is a waste of their particular time.

I think Amy is a producer, and it's fairly inexpensive to create compared to a series. It's also a relatively small time investment, since these series are usually done over a week or two.

Competitive craft building show hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman
The most good spirited competive reality show i have ever seen, no arguing like Ink Masters and all the MTV shows
It's just a nice uplifting and very colorful show to watch and i enjoyed seen the craft builds

Offerman is well known woodworker. He has written a couple books on the subject and his interest in the hobby was often depicted on P&R. I haven't caught it yet, it wasn't on Demand when I looked it up. I believe it was designed to grab the dynamic between the two of them, and yes it was very cheap to produce. They really don't have to pay anybody but themselves.

I wish they did a NBC sitcom together or another Schur project.
The show is ok but a comedy would have been much better.

It is an offbeat gentle feel good show
If there is another season, they can raise the bar. Have teams v individuals and make really epic things
And also get out and about a bit, and make things in public
Amy and Nick to me neither add much to the show, but aren't really offensive either. They are just who they are and they aren't disgraceful

The show has already been renewed. It borrows heavily from "The Great British Baking Show" a UK import that's popular on PBS. They open with a light "skit" between the hosts, the music is very similar, plus the setting and laid-back supportive tone.
