Looks like the first season was written and shot before Whedon exited. Production finished at the end of October and Whendon stepped down in late November. The first season might be good and then subsequent seasons might suffer in quality. I'm intrigued by the trailer and will check it out.

So this is like X-Men? But all women, and set in a couple hundred years ago? Meh.

The first six episodes of Season 1 begin airing/streaming April 11; the second six (currently in pre-production) will arrive at a later date.

I wonder if Whedon was mean to any of the actresses on set?

I'm assuming this will be up on HBO Max tonight? I really want to watch it tonight, but I no longer have live HBO via my cable company. I just have a HBO Max subscription via Hulu.

The Nevers’ Can’t Muster Enough Magic to Erase Joss Whedon

The new HBO fantasy series from the disgraced creator bears his hallmarks for better and worse

I read about Whedon's clashes with Gal Gadot, he sounds like an asshole.

There's no way this series will escape the shadow of Whedon.

Every review I've read this not only mentions Whedon, but spends the bulk of its text explaining how his grubby fingerprints are all over it.

So are they going to act like Whedon never had anything to do with the show even though he obviously did? Also, it seems like reviewers can't separate art from the artists.

No you can't pretend he doesn't exist all of the sudden. Under Producer's Guild and Writer's Guild rules, he's still going to get his credits and will get his residuals.

Yeah, same reason the Weinsteins are listed as producers on the Lord of the Rings films. They had their fingers in the pie at some point in the development of the movies.

I mean, good. All we have is accusations that he’s a “mean person”. At a certain point, no one will care and he’ll go in and make good, non shitty super hero movies.

Hard to tell which part of this sentence is least likely to come true.

He'll have a career after this. No one is saying he raped them, Or beat them. All we have are cryptic tweets from people (can't be alone in a room with Michelle T - No shit, she was 15, and what was the reason? NO ONE WILL SAY) and Ray Fischer, a literal no one, who thought an entire movie called THE JUSTICE LEAGUE was going to have him in first billing over numerous other major actors and actresses. It's almost funny since we all know WB would never release a nearly 4 hour Movie theatrically, and WB was right to cut the shit down to a manageable time (even though it was apparently still crap).

Hopefully Whedon goes back to his early roots and leaves this superhero shit alone. I love Buffy/angel/Firefly/Dollhouse, but never bothered with anything past this (I guess I saw The avengers, which sucked ass). This show looks....eh. Maybe I'll binge it when its over, if renewed.

Hopefully he’ll go away.

First episode was okay. Slow setup IMO, but I’ll keep seeing the next couple to see how it’s pacing continues.

Oh, so when you said he would make “good, non shitty superhero movies” you meant other sorts of movies? I took it to mean superhero movies that don’t suck. That would seem very unlikely.
