Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs…
On Thursday, Comedy Central announced some of the actors and comedians who will be busting Bruce Willis' chops in the upcoming roast of the iconic film and TV star.
Looper co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will serve as roast master.
Other confirmed celebs for the dais include Nikki Glaser, Lil Rel Howery, Dom Irrera, Edward Norton, Kevin Pollak, Jeff Ross and Wills' Moonlighting co-star Cybill Shepherd, according to Comedy Central.
Additional roasters will be announced as the evening draws closer.
The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who also served as executive producer and director for the network roasts of William Shatner (Emmy nominated), Rob Lowe, Justin Bieber, James Franco, Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump.
Comedian and Comedy Central roast regular Ross is co-executive producer.
The Bruce Willis roast will tape mid-July in Los Angeles and premiere July 29.

I think it should be great, assuming they get the right roasters of course.
These have gotten more enjoyable now that CC airs the uncensored version later in the evening. I'm not a big fan of cursing in comedy, as I think it is usually just a lazy way to pad poor material and/or delivery. But in a roast it is part of the event and makes everything come off that much more vicious...all in fun of course. Wish they would get Anthony Jeselnik...and damn I miss Greg Giraldo.

Bruce Willis doesn't strike me as a guy who can take a joke.

I think the key to any good roast is you have to find friends of the Roastee, and then they can get as mean spirited as they want, but you know it's all in fun. This looks like a pretty good lineup of Willis friends (I was hoping Cybil Shepard was there as I'm sure she should have some funny stuff from Moonlighting because they supposedly didn't get along too well).
When they have a roast of someone like Chevy Chase, and they can't find anyone he was friends with to show up(or if he had any friends as supposedly he was the biggest douche) then it's always awkward cause you have B-comics like Lisa Lampanelli and Whitney Cummings making mean spirited jokes with no context.

Correct. And this is 20 years too late. If he was relevant it would matter.
Glass with probably be his swansong at the Box Office, I doubt he will star in another movie that will open greater than $10-15 Mill and be big again.

Word is that Bruce Willis had final approval of all jokes - comedians were warned to stay away from his family life.

I can't imagine Bruce would be happy with a ton of jokes about his daughters and Ashton Kutcher.

Bruce Willis can be really funny when he has some input on the joke. He used to be hilarious on talk shows, especially Letterman, when he would come out in crazy costumes or some made up gag. Not sure how this will be though when he's the butt of everyone else's joke.

Restrictions are different then saying Willis gets to see and approve every joke ahead of time. No way the comedians would have gone along with that. Roasts don't work that way.

Neither can I.
Agreed.
The comedians/roasters wouldn't do the gig if it was all about stroking off BW's ego.
