Re: RIP Harry Anderson

This one hurt when I heard about it earlier today. I really hope some stations will be marathon'ing Night Court this week.

RIP Harry. You introduced me to both magic and law shows. Both of which I still enjoy greatly today.

Some words from Ken Levine, a writer on Cheers:

Shit, very sad to hear. I used to love Night Court, and he was great on Cheers and SNL too.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson

I went to his magic show a few years back, it was a good time, and I remember being impressed with how tall he was. I never picked up on his height from his appearance on TV.

He was also a pretty good adult Richie in It.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson

I liked him in Night Court.

My all time favorite appearance was one time when he was on Letterman. He explained that there was a forgotten act of working with a hat brim that had no crown. He showed the prop, and it was just a circle of felt. He said that he had learned the act from an old vaudevillian. Then he did a routine for a minute or two, and it was hilarious.

Been watching this this morning - he was so great. The 3 Card Monte stuff around the 10 minute mark is fantastic.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson

There should be a dvd box set with all the seasons of Night Court.
I don't think all the seasons were released on dvd.

Yeah. I think I have season one.

I loved Night Court.
It was created by the same folks that gave us Barney Miller and it had a very similar tone and style.

Night Court was great stuff, though it was the fine ensemble cast more than any one character that made it great.

Re: RIP Harry Anderson

Damn Draven, not only am I missing Harry now, but I’m missing old school Letterman. Great video.

Last thing I saw with Harry was an interview about him leaving New Orleans and moving to North Carolina. The interview was sad enough, but he didn’t seem to be in great shape at the time.

RIP Harry ... thank you for the memories.

I know it was a show that ended up going the Warner Archive route, but I'm unsure if all seasons made it out. I loved the show back in the day.
