Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S3E16) -- "I, Ava" -- 3/26/18

Well, Mick and using the fire totem was pretty fun. I liked, the Darhk's, and Nate scene was fun. The rest was awful.

-This totem storyline is really wearing me out. I have no interest in it at all anymore and it just seems like a lame McGuffin.

-I don't give two shits that AVA is a clone, and the whole concept of this episode seemed stupid.

-When did Ray become an expert in hand to hand combat?

-Seriously, as a Marvel Family fan Zari is almost as useless as Mon El. I figured we would get to see her use more of her powers(flight super strength etc), but apparently all she can do is use wind. Uhm, yay?

-Amaya might be the dumbest character on this show. She keeps staying on the ship which means her daughter cant be born, then when water girl gets killed, she goes back in time to warn her, even though if she never goes back she won't be born anyway. I actually like her and Nate as a couple, but she has no purpose on this show and her still being on it is REALLY stretching it.

-Was nice to see the costumes again albeit briefly.

So we have two episodes left, and it looks like they are wasting one on a throw away episode about saving Obama? It's even like the writers are saying "Yeah, this story cant really fill up two episodes, so why try. So yeah, this episode frustrated me. I'm not sure if this is falling apart as bad as season 1 did, but it feels close.

Ava being that she is just one of many clones was a better twist than I thought they would do when they laid it out. The Nate and Darhk scene was fun despite it ripping off so many others that have done the same fake torture thing before. And hopefully they give Rory something better to do soon. The one liners are often funny, but the show is better when he is in on the action rather than just hanging out on the ship.

I thought it was a fun ep. Looking forward to the explanation for Ava.

This season has been mostly entertaining but the writers have run out of ideas. This is one time where a shorter 12 or 13 episode season would have been better for everyone.

Feels like they're setting up Amaya leaving at the end of the season. Especially now that she's going back to 1992 to rectify things so her granddaughter doesn't get killed.

The Ava being a clone didn't bother me. Thought it was an entertaining hour.

I suspected Ava was a female clone of Rip Hunter after his reaction to discovering Sara was seeing Ava. Could still be possible, but the whole "attack of the clones" and dozens of Ava's in a locked-away time period was a bit unexpected.

Really seems like Amaya will be leaving at the seasons end. I'm fine with that.

Ok, we’ve officially hit too much Gary.

Re: DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S3E16) -- "I, Ava" -- 3/26/18

Gary has become too ridiculous. Not sure what he even does at the Time Bureau as he seems completely incompetent in everything except DMing.

Mick is just wallpaper now and I don't think the writers know what to do with him anymore.

Ray is all over the place and the actor seems to be phoning it in ever since his wife showed up.

Ava is overrated. I don't think Rip thinks Sara would care if Ava was a clone. Probably used some of Sara's DNA to make her.

Amaya needs to put family first and go home. Kind of feeling like Nate is a selfish ass for not letting her go and thus liking him less and less.

We got 3 seconds of Steel for the first time in several episodes. Ended up being pointless.

Wally and Zari are the best characters on the show now and I never expected that.

Why is Damian Dahrk here? Seems like Mallus has never actually needed him for anything.

I'm okay with the totems storyline.

I still enjoy the show but I agree with most of the criticisms. Rory hasn't been utilized since Captain freeze left. My biggest gripe with the show is how many times are the individual members going to go off on missions without telling anyone where they are going? Most of the episodes would be five minutes if they carried out missions as a team and not spend half of the episode trying to save the wayward members. Still a fun show, but quickly wearing thin. Only saving grace has been the appearance of Constantine.

I think my favorite scene from this episode was Dahrk and Nate creating their "safe space".

Wally seems to be dumbed down in LoT vs his treatment on The Flash.

Mick seems to solely be comic relief now, which is a shame, and kind of awesome.
