Hmmm, or is it more like a pig trough, full of slop for the lowest common denominator to consume?

I agree with this period. I remember more and more people were tuning into various reality shows. I agree with other posters, the Writer's Strike in 2007-2008 also added to the reality show boom.

Looks pretty light to me. I only watched a handful of those.

Just so milo doesn’t die alone on this hill, I fully agree. Never understood the worship of that show.

1993-1994 or so was probably the era I watched the least amount of TV. A lot of my favorites had either ended (Cheers) or had deteriorated to where I didn't bother keeping up with them (Married... with Children). Seinfeld, Simpsons, and Beavis & Butthead I enjoyed, but I wouldn't start X-Files and Frasier until years later.

We are no longer at Peak TV. IMO it's Fatigue TV now. Peak in terms of quantity only.

I only saw a small sample of Bob Barker’s summer show from that era (when James Randi debunks the fake psychic), That’s My Line, and from that alone I’ll agree, due to the shitty format, sets, music, everything. However, season 2 of Soap aired during this time, which was damn good.
