Lastly, Jennifer (China Anne McClain) learns the importance of controlling her temper - in all situations. Christine Adams, James Remar, Damon Gupton and Marvin Jones III also star. Really enjoying this show. The dialogue is great, especially between the family members. Liked the "upgrade" to his powers too.

I like his daughter's costume a lot better than Black Lightning's electric armor look. I wish superhero shows would drop the modulated voice in costumes gimmick. Are we going to be stuck with it forever because of Nolan's Batman?

The best scene for me was the discussion between Jennifer and her parents about the fight, especially Jefferson's reaction to Jennifer's saying that he taught them how to defend themselves. Just long enough for the viewer to see but short enough that we knew he had to hide it from Lynn.

Pros:
-Huggy Bear!!
-Anissa is soooo damn fine.
-New features being rolled out on the BL suit.
-Some Tobias backstory
-Father/Daughter family stuff
-My theory that BL and the Police Chief would eventually mirror a Batman/Gordan relationship
Cons:
-I don't want them to take away from what he can do with his own abilities without the suit
-I feel like the show goes by so fast.

This is a general BL power question, not specific to this episode but I never read any of the comics and wikipedia isn't clear. So doesn't Black Lightning have healing powers? If so why is Lynn so freaked out? I mean his job is actually safer than their cop buddy who has no powers and is at risk every day. Also it said that he could heal others with his powers so couldn't he just fix the paralyzed kid?
