Longmire (Netflix) -- Season 6 Discussion (Final Season) -- starts 11/17/17

I'm torn... do I watch Walt ride off into the sunset or watch Frank take to the streets?

Either way the final season of Longmire is out today. It's 10 episodes and each is an hour (or more).

When we last left Walt and company...

Longmire - Season 6 - TV-14 - 10 episodes
The sixth and final season of Longmire opens up with a high stakes bank heist that draws Walt (Robert Taylor), Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Ferg (Adam Bartley) into a mystifying murder investigation. Cady (Cassidy Freeman) is haunted by a troubling premonition she is having and runs into trouble advising a disgruntled client. And we pick up on Season 5's explosive cliffhanger where Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Philips) has fallen victim to Malachi's kidnapping. His survival hangs in the balance and his life depends on his allies discovering his location before time runs outs.
Decisions, decision.

Shit, I thought this was next week or the end of the month. Sorry Punisher, I am watching Longmire first.

I am on episode 5. Now this is the Walt Longmire we know and love. His characterization is a complete 180 from last season's grudge/vendetta Walt that nobody liked. Also, each episode is between 55 to 71 minutes, so they're all like little mini-movies.

I will probably be done tomorrow.

Jesus, I'm not even halfway through season 5 - it was such a fucking slog! I'll bear through it though, just so I can finally finish the series.

Yeah, season 5 was the worst of the series.

Glad to hear this season is better. I'm going to not enter this thread again until I watch the season.

I'm 4 episodes in and noticed one bit of unfinished business.

Spoiler:
What happened with the Crow medicine woman? She abandoned Walt after he found Henry and there was no closure.

Edit: Holy shit, episode 5 is off the charts. Steel yourselves for that one.

Just finished it up. Yes, it ended greatly and it was back to form. Well, looks like I'll have to read the 13 novels to get my Longmire fix now.

Well, that's good to know, I thought this show was over. Heck, I don't even remember how Season 5 ended.

I'm on ep. 9 now. This season is way better than the previous one.

Spoiler:
I was wondering if they were going to answer that one. She just vanished in the middle of a field.

I watched an S5 trailer and none of that rang a bell. Then I logged into Netflix and the last episode I watched is S4-10. No wonder I don't recall S5. ;)

I've completely forgotten what I've seen of S5, just that it was a chore. And I really don't want to re-watch the half I have seen, or even finish it up!

I believe the first episode of the final season has a recap of the previous seasons.

On episode 9 now.
Spoiler:
Damn they really put Vic through the meat grinder. And it looks like Katee has aged about a decade. But damn, that swerve at the end.

Re: Longmire (Netflix) -- Season 6 Discussion (Final Season) -- starts 11/17/17

Ok finished it. Thoughts:

Spoiler:

HATED the Cady storyline. A lawyer becoming sheriff? Between the appearance of nepotism and her incident with the Indian boy I wouldn't like her chances. She should have gone to NY like she said.

LOVED seeing Henry in charge of the casino. All that was missing was him answering the phone with "It is a lovely day at the Four Arrows casino and continual soiree, this is Henry." But what becomes of Nighthorse?

Didn't mind Vic and Walt pairing since it happened in the books.

Got a chuckle out of Walt finally getting a cell phone. And reception out there on the range, too!

Mathias felt like an afterthought this season. He was grossly underused.

Wasn't keen on how Lucien went out or his act of vigilantism.

Fingers crossed on the talk of an occasional feature film.

yeah I'm embarrassed to say as much as I was looking forward to Season 6 I realized watching the recap I hadn't finished season 5. Only finished the first 4 episodes of that season. I'm up to season 5 episode 8 now and will start season 6 some time later this week...

I really don't remember much of season 5. I was wondering what happened to Ally Walker's character?

in the last episode of season 5, after her deposition, they split up amicably. It likely also coincided with her joining the cast of Colony. ;)

I just finished up the final season today. I really enjoyed it and I thought it ended well. It was a much better than season 5. Episode 5 was a big shocker for me, but it was well done. My only complaint this season was the Cady storyline. I don't like her chances after what happened on the Rez. I had completely forgot what happened with Walt and the Doc until I read this thread. I thought she had just been written off. I'm sad the show is ending, but this was a well done season after the terrible season 5. I'm glad they went out on top. I hope they give us a movie or two down the road.

Just finished this tonight. I really enjoyed this season ... a nice bounce back from S5. They went out on a high note

I finished this series a few weeks ago. I liked but didnt love the season and am ready to let the series go. It was becoming a bit derivative and i didnt like the "hidden treasure" story line even if its based loosely on something real.
Spoiler:
I suspected from the first mention of that storyline that Walt would end up looking for the treasure.

Just finished season 6. Damn, I'm going to miss this show. But I'm glad they were able to give us a nice conclusion.

Pretty happy mostly with the 'happy' endings that everyone got, though as mentioned by others above I think having Cady run for Sheriff was a bad idea. I was hoping she would do what she confessed to Zach that she had always wanted to do... get the hell out of Wyoming. Loved that Henry ended up running the casino.

It still kind of blows my mind that Robert Taylor is Australian (and also that he was one of the Agents in The Matrix). He just embodies Walt so well I can't really think of him as anyone else.

Just finished this season, thought it was good.
Spoiler:
Cady becoming sheriff was a bit of a stretch for me, Vic/Longmire relationship was a little strange for me at the end, even though they've been planting the seeds over the years. Will miss these characters.

Was there a need for you to post this spoiler? One episode left for me and I come here to comment on something and see this. With streaming shows, everything should be spoilered since people watch at different times & paces. How does everyone not know this at this point?
