EXCLUSIVE: Josh Stewart (Shooter), Floriana Lima (Supergirl), and Giorgia Whigham (Scream) have been cast as new series regulars for the upcoming second season of Marvel’s The Punisher on Netflix.
Stewart will play John Pilgrim, a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world. Lima will portray Krista Dumont, a smart, compassionate, and driven psychotherapist for military veterans. Whigham will play Amy Bendix, a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past.

sooo, I have one episode left in the season and just found this thread. I'm not a huge Marvel guy, so I didnt know that this sort of flowed out of Daredevil s2. I found the show fairly enjoyable not knowing the backstory and such. How much would I gain by watching DD?

Punisher's arc in DD season 2 is worthwhile. If you enjoyed Punisher, I'd check out that season for sure.

Season 2 of Daredevil is a good introduction to Frank. Also sets up his relationship with Karen (the blonde) in season 1 of Punisher.

The Punisher's second season is coming to Netflix, and now we have a much better idea as to when it will hit.
Netflix released their January releases for 2019 today, and while no specific day was given, the release did reveal that Punisher season 2 will be released in January.

It's bittersweet.
I'm very much hyped for this season as I enjoyed the first one...
but I know the show will be announced as canceled shortly after release... :'(
