The new season was officially announced today. They are bringing the dirtiest, most conniving players in Challenge history back to compete.

She'd better not get thrown into an elimination early or else you won't be seeing her for very long.

The women's pool is especially weak. Sarah and Laurel probably don't want to come back and it hurts the show. They never fully replaced Paula, Susie and Ev.

I was looking at the women's pool and trying to rank them.

5. Smashley (I think she got really lucky in Invasion of the Champions with who she got for her parter in each round of the Final.)

It's weird to have a theme of "dirty" players and not see Wes in there. I agree then women side is fairly week, it would be nice to see one or two other really athletic women in there, even someone like Emily from a few years back.

Did anyone watch the special last week? Veronica is still so sexy to me. But I don't see her lasting long here.

I watched it the other day. Kind of surprised they didn't mention Derrick's return after a long absence but did have Veronica there talking about the cast.

After bailing on the last outing and ignoring the one against other athletes, I'll watch this one for Derrick as long as he's around.

Looking forward to the new season tonight. I still haven't watched last week's special, but I'm going to watch it and tonight's episode when I get home from work tonight.

I'll post this before any posts about the episode tonight. Are the past seasons of The Challenge available for streaming for free or part of a subscription service? They used to be available on Hulu and Prime, but it looks they both services have dropped them. I know you can buy them by the episode, but that would be an expensive purchase. I'd love to go back and watch season 1-15.

Pretty good first episode. Players not being fully eliminated always brings a fun twist for the players.

I was kind of bored through the episode and I saw Ashley whining and going to a vehicle but was that whole thing because she didn't have clothes/lost luggage?

They seemed to be grooming her to be a challenge star but quitting is just pathetic and washes away all her "accomplishments" in my opinion.

Ashley has had a freak out "i wanna go home!" moment every season she's been on. It was pretty funny to see her actually do it this early in the game.

Also kind of funny to see Cara push her a little to do it.

Ashley quitting was completely lame. I'm sure production would get her some underwear and socks if she asked... CT not being let in the country was pretty funny, but it looks like he's there for the next episode. Also, I wonder if they'll bring in a replacement for Smashley.

Ashley's shtick is pretty old, but here bikini bod looked great.

Curious to see how they deal with the gender neutral. If they'll let him choose which side he'll compete on.

It was great. She does do that every season but I don't think she ever actually wanted to go home. I think she goes full Smashley and gets dramatic but once she wakes up the next morning she realizes that she doesn't really want to quit. I'm pretty sure that's how this would have played out too if Cara didn't step in. :lol:

I like the Redemption House twist but really only because I didn't want to see Darrell get the boot so quickly. I don't know how it'll play out but hope he finds his way back into the main game.

According to Bananas, he was asked before the show if he wanted to compete against the men or women and he chose to compete against the men.

I'm guessing Ashley was doing what she does every season (getting camera time/being a drama queen) and expected the producers to convince her to stay. Maybe they did attempt to get her to stay or maybe they didn't try very hard...

I think Cara's subtle urging pushed her over the edge. Ashley's an annoying drama queen but her body looked really good by the pool. Also looked different facially not sure if it was the hair style or what.
