Nikki sitting next to Mr. Wrench on the bus was a surprise. Wonder if he is going to help her or this was just a cameo.

I believe Wrench will play a roll. His reveal was too dramatic, (along with the accompanying drum track signifying his presence), to be just a cameo.

I didn't even recognize it was Mr. Wrench. He looked all beat up.

Nice callback to the movie with someone getting caught trying to escape using a motel bathroom window.

This was over before I knew it. So good.
Only complaint this season is new chief blocking anything old chief tries to do to solve these murders.

I just can't wait for the Russian guy and the other goon to get their asses handed to them - they are way too over-confident. Same with the new chief - he's such a raging asshole, but then that's the kind of character that actor always plays.

I'm with Sepinwall on this one. Fargo Season 3 has become Fargo's Greatest Hits, basically Repertoire Theater. Hated how they totally copied the Gus-Malvo traffic stop in the police station to far lesser impact this time.
I still hope it will end strongly and unexpectedly but so far this season has been a huge disappointment despite some very strong performances (from actors not named Ewan).

As I said in an earlier episode thread, this season is good - but falls far behind S1 and S2.
One thing this season is missing is the feeling of cold weather. In the film and the first two seasons the weather almost felt like a character. I'm not getting that this season... and it's not just the one episode set in California.

I wouldn't say there's very little snow... just not as much as S1. But it's not just about the amount of snow... it's the fact that there are a lot of outdoor scenes. The vast majority of S3 is spent indoors.

So they open this one with Varga opening all of Emmitt's families gifts? Way too many "Varga is a disgusting creep" scenes in this season rather than actually having any substance. But at least this one wasn't meant to gross us out as viewers like so many of the others.
Loved both Mr. Wrench and DJ Qualls showing up. Imagine both will be back unless the Wrench thing was just to tie all three seasons together.
Still would be great if Nikki took out all of the Varga group because she thinks they killed Ray. But now there seems to be another group that Qualls could be part of.

Why is Emmitt's wife still gone? Wouldn't she know by now that the video was faked by his brother?
Even then, Emmitt can throw it in her face that she's the one who fucked up by leaving without hearing an explanation, assuming the worst about him when he did nothing wrong.
